A beautiful Heritage Town with the magnificent Lismore Castle and Gardens. The town sits alongside the stately Blackwater River. Relax and enjoy tranquil Lismore, stroll along any of the sign posted walks both in and around the town. Take in the charm of its fine collection of 18th and 19th Century buildings.

Mere minutes away you can enjoy the natural beauty of the Knockmealdown Mountains, the Vee Gap or the Nire Valley. Less than 20 minutes away are the blue flag Beahes of Clonea and Ardmore. There are many other historic places such as Mount Mellary Abbey, Dromona Gate and the Towers at Ballysaggartmore.
 

When it comes to dining you are spoilt for choice, the exquisite Barca restaurant (Spanish & International cuisine)is seconds away, the award winning Café Molese (Italian offerings), Eamon’s Place(renowned for the best steak in town), Lismore Hotel (a wide selection), China Moon (Chinese) and the ever friendly Castle Lodge Restaurant (serving a wide variety of dishes) and the recently opened Foleys on the Mall. If you prefer to stay in there are 2 take aways. If you would like to savour up the local atmosphere you have a choice of 8 pubs, many of which also serve lunches and light snacks. If you like live entertainment or traditional Irish music you are never far away.

You are only 15mins from both Dungarvan and Youghal both of which offer an eclectic selection of shops, food and evening entertainment. Slightly further afield the larger towns of Waterford and Cork beckon (both within 1 hours drive).You are never far from the action.
 

Glendalough Cottage over 100 years old, is a wonderful mixture of old and new. While retaining many of its original features, the cottage has been lovingly restored and upgraded to meet the demands of modern living.

Glendalough has a choice of two bedrooms, a family bedroom and a double bedroom. It has a cosy sitting room with TV and DVD player. It has a large fully equipped kitchen and dining area. There is a bathroom with toilet and a separate shower and a large garden to the rear. All rooms and facilities are at ground level with easy access. All your mod cons are included, microwave, washer/drier, dishwasher, oven, fridge/freezer and with central heating it will feel like home from home! There is ample free parking space outside the property.

The cottage comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 2 double and 1 cots. . This gives room for up to 5 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The cottage has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The cottage has television dvd. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 5 in the living room and 5 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this cottage.

A mximum of two pets welcome. Please keep pets out of all bedrooms.

The cottage is in a very quiet area. It has a garden, a patio area, a barbeque.

The cottage is right beside historic sites, a restaurant, a food shop.

Close to the cottage you will find fishing, walking, horse riding, golf, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas.

Within easy reach of the cottage you will find a beach, swimming, sailing, boat hire.

Five minutes walk to Lismore Castle & Gardens. Heritage Centre 1 minute away.

Sheila says: "We arrived at Gelndalough Cottage to find Teresa waiting on us, she was very welcoming and was very nice to the children. We could not believe that she has a lovely welcome pack ready in the kitchen for us. The cottage is beautiful it looks small from the outside but once you go through the hall door it is so bright, very well decorated, very airy and the rooms are big. There was plenty of room for 2 adults and 3 children. The kitchen had everything at hand that we required to cook for the children, very well equipped with utensils, the only thing missing was a dishwasher and Teresa said they hope to have one soon. The bedrooms were big and had plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was beautiful. The bathroom was huge, it had a bath and a stand alone shower. The back garden had a patio area and the garden was huge for the children and very safe as it is walled in so they had no escape. It is a 2 minute walk into the town of Lismore where we found a new playground for children of all ages (ours are 2, 5 & 6). The Castle is right beside the playground. We were very happy with out 4 day stay in Lismore and we were all disappointed that we could not stay longer, We would have no hesitation in recommending this property as we really enjoyed our stay. "
