It borders the municipalities following: Palma de Mallorca, Buñola and Santa Maria del Camí. The population of this county has grown in recent years due to the proliferation of new housing developments around the nuclei older because of its proximity to Palma and good communications (highway and rail line). The climate of Marratxí is a Mediterranean climate. The winters are short and fairly mild temperatures, while the summers are hot. Marratxís economy has been in a past marked by agriculture and crafts pottery deeply rooted in the municipality. However, the arrival of the train and the highway, have Marratxí of a town bordering with execelentes Palma and locaclización privileged communications, considered by some as a dormitory town of Palma, a specially formed by newly built houses.
