This manour country house is located in the Green Coast of Portugal, 6 km from Viana do Castelo, less than 1 hour drive from Porto, at a half an hour distance from Ponte de Lima, and at about 1 hour distance from Vigo and Braga. It is a centennial house recently adapted to all modern comforts (dating back to 1892), with characteristic architecture of the North of Portugal, rounded with pretty gardens outside and close to the Atlantic beaches (7 km). Here you will find a welcoming paradise and quiet vacation. A rural space of 4 hectares (10 acres) near the mountains and the beach, on a region of luxurious green and streams. It is 600 meters from local village centre, 2 km from restaurants, coffee shop, supermarkets, bank and chemist, 6 km from larger shopping facilities. Porto international is 50 km distant, and to Porto city is 70 km.

Country house consists of 5 double rooms, mezzanine with sleeping area, 3 bathrooms, 2 shower rooms, fully equipped kitchen, 3 living rooms, 2 dining rooms, library, balcony, terrace, and a huge garden and farm with 4 hectares. Additionally, there is a suite in a separate building, consisting of 1 double room with living room and 1 bathroom. The gardens: every square meter has a guaranteed surprise: with hundreds of species of trees, shrubs and flowers, the farm has several corners which are all unique. From garden amphitheaters to real "outdoor living rooms" with granite seats and tables, one can walk through schist paths through woods, shade and water games or lakes.

The town lying at the mouth of the Rio Lima has and always had a history linked with the sea. The City is still kept reasonably busy with its fishing industry and the new phenomena of tourism. A main feature of the City is the attractive main square that features both a 1553 water fountain and the Miseriacórdia house that was constructed in 1598.

The town of Viana do Castelo is famous for its decorative filigree jewellery which reflects back to the time of Moor occupation.

A ferry or the bridge takes visitors across the river to the beautiful sweeping sandy beach of Praia Cabedelo that stretches as far south as the popular holiday resort of Esposende.

To the north is another holiday resort by the name of Vila Praia de Âncora with its 17th Century Fort. On this coastal road just to the north of Viana do Castelo is Areosa with a 16th Century chapel and a 17th Century fort. An interesting 13th Century chapel can also be found to the northeast of this town at a small hamlet named São Pedro de Varais.

From this point running along the Spanish boarder are several towns worth visiting; Caminha, Vila Nova de Cerveira, Valença and the Spa towns of Monção and Melgaço.  

 

The country house comprises 6 bedrooms in total; 6 double and 1 cots, 6 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 2 single sofa beds located in the in the living rooms. This gives room for up to 14 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The country house has 6 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The country house has dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls.

There is room for 14 in the living room and 14 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.
