The villa is a recently renovated beautiful 200 year old property set on the edge of a small village in the heart of Piemonte. It has a very large enclosed private garden with a fully fenced heated pool, a large lawn area and a covered gazebo for al fresco dining.

Il Cortile is perfect for those looking for a relaxing holiday in a very idyllic and unspoilt part of Italy. It is perfect for food and wine lovers and for families looking to spend some relaxing quality time together.

The property can sleep up to 14 people, but we will consider smaller parties and adjust rental rates accordingly.

GROUND FLOOR:
Kitchen – Fully fitted kitchen with table. Dishwasher, fridge freezer, five burner stove, microwave, kettle, toaster all crockery, glasses, cutlery, serving bowls, pans etc.

Stable - Off the kitchen there is a large family room with two sets of double doors onto the garden. This room used to be the old stables and is the one with the white sofas, 40 inch wall mounted LCD television, DVD player and wood-burning stove.

Tavernetta - To the back of the house is the old wine press room, which still has the original wine press in it which has been restored. This room has leather sofas and armchairs, a large inglenook fireplace and CD player (more of a grown ups quiet room!)

Downstairs toilet - Just off the tavernetta

Dining room – Beside the kitchen is the original dining room with original (now restored) hand painted ceiling and murano chandelier. Large square table which seats up to 12 people.

Utility room - Washing machine, tumble drier, sink and storage for towels and bed linen etc. Stairs down to the cellar

FIRST FLOOR:

Master bedroom - King size cream iron double bed, with doors leading onto the hay loft terrace and double doors leading into ensuite bathroom.

Master ensuite - Large shower, bath, toilet, bidet and double sinks on dark oak unit. Additional vanity area in corner.

Bedroom 2 - Two single cabin beds with pull out beds underneath (so could sleep four).

Bedroom 3 - Bedroom with bed that can be set up either as a king size or two singles

Bathroom 2 - Family bathroom with bath, shower, hand basin, bidet and toilet

Courtyard ensuite (Bedroom 4) - Large bedroom overlooking the garden with king size bed, door leading into ensuite bathroom.

The villa is in a small village called Bergamasco which is famous in the locality for its annual white truffle festival which takes place on the second Sunday of October every year

Bergamasco has two small grocer shops where you can buy your daily bread, milk, cheese, some fresh fruit and vegetables and general provisions. There are three bars, two of which provide delicious piemontese lunches and dinners (no menu – you are given what they are cooking for the day), two butchers, a pharmacy and a tobacconist.

The wine making region of Piemonte remains very unspoilt and typically Italian, people here are consistently very welcoming and friendly. Wine and food are a key part of life here and there are numerous award winning and famous vineyards and cantinas where you can enjoy some local wine tasting.

As well as the village restaurants, there are also other numerous very good restaurants in the area. There are various festivals in Bergamasco and the surrounding villages throughout the year, particularly in August. These usually involve lots of family entertainment in the day and dancing in the evening in the square with local wine – the kids love it!

There are also many beautiful towns and villages to visit nearby, the coast is under an hour away and Genoa and Turin are perfect for a day trip. Other things that you can do (apart from food and wine tasting!) include horse riding, golf, a designer outlet village and there’s a small water park nearby too. During the winter months the Italian ski resorts are only a day trip away.

The villa comprises 7 bedrooms in total; 6 double, 1 twin and 3 cots, 3 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 16 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 5 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The villa has television dvd. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 14 in the living room and 14 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area (with heater), a south facing balcony, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside swimming, walking, cycling.

Close to the villa you will find horse riding, golf, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find a beach, historic sites.
