Our two charming properties set in the beautiful hills just South of Autun, Burgundy, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the valley. La Petite Maison with 4 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (see separte listing) and La Maison with 7 double bedrooms with 5 bathrooms (3 en-suite) have been lovingly restored with many period features and are fully equipped to provide every comfort, and ensure you have an unforgettable holiday.

The properties enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the magnificent surrounding countryside and are ideally situated in the heart of Burgundy, making them a perfect base for exploring the region.

They share the use of a large, spectacularly located, heated swimming pool(11 by 5 metres) securely enclosed within a walled orchard overlooking the valley.

The properties are set in nearly 2 acres. Our pretty flower borders, fruit trees and grass meadow provide a peaceful setting for dining, relaxing.

There is a choice of nearby villages for bread and groceries, bars, cafes and restaurants and easy access to the vineyards and gastromonomic delights of Burgundy, the Roman city of Autun and no shortage of outdoor pursuits including walking, riding, cycling, sailing, golf as well as tennis.

Situated only 20 minutes from the nearest TGV station, and around 40 minutes from A6 autoroute.

Across our 2 properties we can cater for up to 22 people, making it a perfect location for a family gathering, or central European meeting point for groups of friends, business colleagues.

 

The properties are close to many attractions and areas of interest including:
Le Creusot -with its new Parc Touristique des Combes providing go-carting; summer luge; an adventure playground, picnic and park facilities and much more - for the adventurous! - approx 15 minutes.
Autun - Roman City with ampitheatre, roman gateways and meples, and large cathedral - approx 20 minutes
Beaune - the capital of Burgundy wines with its famous medieval hospital (Hotel Dieu) - approx 45 minutes.
Dijon - for fine arts and especially fine food - approx 1¼ hours.
Morvan National Park - with its many lakes and spectacular scenery - 25 minutes.


The wine regions of Burgundy - Chablis 2 hours north, Côte d'Or (divided in Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune) only 30minutes away, Côte Chalonnaise less than 30 minutes, Couchois less than 30 minutes, Mâconnais 1 hour away and Beaujolais a little over 1 hour. Nivernais and Sancerre wine areas also within 2 hour drive. You will be spoilt for choice. Lots of excellent wine tours available and of course great wines!


Shopping - the superb market in Autun is not to be missed, and we are close to many towns allowing a big choice of shops, supermarkets and bustling street markets
Restaurants - there are many good places to eat in the area including the outstanding La Rose des Vents located in the village itself, which attracts customers from around the region.
Chateaux - there are many outstanding examples in the area.

Lyons - a city of gastronomic delight and great shopping - approx 1½ hours.
Geneva - a day trip is a great outing - travel time approx 2¼ hours.
Tennis - floodlight courts are available in the village - less than 5 minutes.
Golf - there are several good quality golf courses within a 30 minute drive.
Canal rides on Le Canal de Bourgogne - approx 30 minutes.
Fishing - the river la Saone is the top spot in France for catfish (silure), which can reach up to 200lbs!
 

 

The farm house comprises 7 bedrooms in total; 3 double, 4 twin and 1 cots, 3 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 14 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The farm house has 5 bathrooms and 6 WCs for your party's use.

The farm house has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls. Recreational activities available with the farm house include table tennis.

There is room for 10 in the living room and 14 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The farm house is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, access to a shared south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The farm house is right beside swimming, walking.

Close to the farm house you will find fishing, cycling, horse riding, golf, tennis, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a themepark, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the farm house you will find boat hire.
