Gautefall is a very popular destination, located in south-west Telemark.
In winter, Telemark’s biggest alpine skiing centre offers excellent conditions for all snow lovers, whether you prefer Telemark skiing, snowboarding, alpine or cross-country skiing. In order to guarantee excellent conditions and a long season, Gautefall has invested NOK 11-12 million in a large and efficient snow canon. Separate canons have been installed to create an exciting snowboard arena. The youngest children will have a wonderful time racing round the specially designed play area on mini-skidoos.

In summer, the mountains attract hikers and fishing enthusiasts. Cool off with a refreshing dip in one of the mountain tarns. In late summer, you will find berries and mushrooms in abundance in the woods and meadows.

Gautefall is located halfway between the Bø Sommarland water park and the Dyreparken amusement park in Kristiansand. Accommodation at Gautefall is very reasonably priced compared to the hotels and cottages in Bø or Kristiansand.
Gautefall is also an excellent starting point for day trips to the many other attractions and sights in Telemark and along the coast from Kragerø to Kristiansand.
 

Gautefall offers a wide choice of activities in summer and winter, and at Christmas and Easter. Activities are organised into separate programmes and are available from the hotel’s reception.

Gautefall Activity Camp
Gautefall has built a camp as a base for its activity programmes.
Here you can try your hand at axe throwing, snow shoe racing in deep snow or across wetlands, relay races on ‘skis’ with 5 pairs of fittings, air rifle shooting, log balancing at heights of 4 and 8 metres, canoe racing and mountain biking, to name a few.

Paddling across 3 lakes – crossing the “Djupsåna” - return to the hotel on foot via “Himmelrike” (the Kingdom of Heaven). Duration 4-5 hours.

This is a new cabin built to the highest standard. It is 120m from Lake Bjørntjørn where your boat will be. It is 300m. to the nearest beach. There are terraces on both sides of the cabin where you can enjoy the scenery or relax in the whirpool. There is a well equipped kitchen, Parabol TV and DVD. The cabin is 430 m a.s.l.
(Electricity is not included in price. The electricity will be paid before depature to the owner.)

Gautefall is very popular holiday area with a lot of activities. There is also excellent fishing in the nearby lake. Around the Lake Nisser there are beaches. The cabin is 10 min by car from the alpine area with 8 slopes for skiiers of all standards together with slopes and a play centre for children.

The cabin sleeps up to 8 people in 3 bedrooms, Bedroom 1 has a double bed and single bed, Bedroom 2 has one double bed while Bedroom 3 has a bunk bed and a Madras.

The large living room is furnished in typical Norwegian style with fireplace. There is also a Satellite TV & DVD.

A large open kitchen has a big dining table for 8 people. There are also two outside rooms for skis and other equipment. The cabin has a sauna, two bathrooms with shower and toilet. There are also children beds and children chairs.

The cabin comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 single. The property also has 1 single sofa bed located in the bedroom, 1 double bunk bed located in the bedroom. This gives room for up to 7 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The cabin has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm. The cabin has a sauna.

The cabin has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 7 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine. The owner has also provided cutlery, glassware.

The cabin is in a very quiet area. It has a patio area. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The cabin is right beside a beach, boat hire, fishing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding.

Close to the cabin you will find a restaurant.

Within easy reach of the cabin you will find a zoo.

Grenville says: "Very comfortable cabin property with quality facilities just (an easy) 5.8kn drive from Gautefall hotel and ski resort. We especially enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and indoor sauna; perfect after a day's skiing. Although bedrooms are a little small, there was plenty of communal space for our family of 6. Only slight downside was the lack of bedroom cupboards (nowhere to store or hang clothes), and it could do with a few more pots and pans when cooking for 6 or more. Cabin is however well equipped, and with reasonable supermarkets just a few kilometeres away in Truengen, self-catering was easy and enjoyable. Only recommendation - don't forget to bring your duty-frees with you, the nearest alcohol store is 55km away ... "
