Along the beautiful southern coast of Norway, you find the small town Arendal. Though there are only about 39 000 inhabitants in this municipality, you'll find we can offer a big city atmosphere during the summer months. Then, this town really comes to life with numerous activities from May through August. Every week can offer something special to our guests, such as the Boat Fair in May, Children's culture week in June or International Market and Canal Street - Arendal jazz and blues festival in July.
During the summer months, about 150 000 tourists make it to our little town. They can choose to stay at hotels, cabins, camping grounds, guest harbours or other types of accommodation available in our area.
The southern coast bears connotation to sun, boat life and swimming, but there are many more activities available. Some are offered 12 months a year, some are season-based. Activities range from diving, sightseeing, and fishing, to museums, art galleries and guided town tours.
If you want peace and quiet, spend a day in the inland area. Go swimming in fresh water, do some fishing or take a walk along the many walking paths. Bring a camera and you'll make your own souvenirs. Bring a picnic basket or have lunch at a café - there are many different places to choose from.
Activities
Are you one of those who could lie on the beach all day, go swimming in the sea and enjoy bars and restaurants at night? Or perhaps you would like to go out in a boat, perform exciting wreck dives and finish the day with fresh shrimps on a little island?
 

Stall Siring offers ponys and horses for rent in Hove Camp on Tromøy from May till August. In the summer holiday we also have a daytime riding camp from Monday till Friday.
You can rent a horse all year from Siring Gård - our stable holds many great horses that can bring you on a trip in the southern forest.

Nes Verk Golf Club is one of Norway's largest and best golf courses with an 18-hole main course and a 9-hole short course. The area is located in idyllic surroundings on Nes Verk, about 22 kms east of Arendal. Equipment can be rented.

There are many different acitivities in the area around the golf course. Walking paths are well marked. Nes Ironworks Museum, Norway's best preserved ironworks museum from the 1600s, is also close by.

Arendal Tennisklubb
You can rent a tennis court at Arendal Tennisklubb's area at Løvold, northeast of Arendal town. NOK 100,- pr hour.

Arendal sports park
New outdoors ice skating rink at Myra, just outside of Arendal. 10 000 square metres of ice is prepared and maintained every day in the winter season, and it's open to the public every day during the winter season. Closed from 29 March through the summer

Train ride / canoe trip
How does a train ride and a canoe or bicycle trip sound to you? Take the train to Nelaug and rent a canoe there to experience the calm of Nelaugvannet. Or if you really feel like working out, bring a bicycle and enjoy a scenic trip back to Arendal with pauses along the way.

Hiking areas
Granestua, Øynaheia, Hove, Førevann etc. The areas surrounding Arendal town can offer a variety of scenic landscape and nice footpaths. The tourist office sells useful maps.

Heimdal Chocolates




In "the Pink House" in the center of Arendal, you'll find Norways only chocolatier who still produces homemade chocolates. We're proud to have the country's smallest chocolate "factory". And it tastes delicious too. Everybody knows that Switzerland and Belgium have very fine chocolate, but who would have thought that we wikings are capable of such a delicate task? Come and taste for yourself! If the open-sign blocks the street, you're welcome to visit, have a cup of coffee and a taste of heaven, while you watch the pros at work.

First - entrance, bathroom with shower and toilet, 2 bedrooms - one with bunkbed (2people) and one with double bed (2 poeple) Second floor - one bedroom woth bunk bed (2 people) , open kitchen and dining corner. Big living room with 2 sofa. There is a entrance to terrace from living room. Third floor - one bedroom with 2 single beds (2 people)

The cabin comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin, 1 single. The property also has 2 double bunk beds located in the bedroom. This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The cabin has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The cabin has television dvd. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine. The owner has also provided cutlery, glassware.
