We bought the plot and built here 15 years ago, as the views of the busy harbour, the boats, and the people coming and going were so intriguing. The distant islands are always changing in the light as the day goes on, with incredible sunrises, and sunsets. Since then we bought the plot in front of ours, as we did not want anyone to build in front of us.
So we have a large garden at an incredible slope, and enough walls for a castle. With fruit trees, nut trees and vines. There is a small vegetable garden for your use, with tomatos, peppers, etc.
 

We have two bedrooms upstairs, leading onto a large terrace, partially shaded, with a bathroom, and a backdoor that opens onto the back terrace, also with shade, where the sun comes in the afternoon. Downstairs we have a sitting room with a kitchen area, a double bedroom, and a bathroom. The sitting room is rarely used as such, as we do everything on the terrace, which is large enough to have dining space for as many as come, and sitting and playing , relaxing areas. The hammocks have a special place in the shade, where I have my afternoon snooze. The bathrooms will both be updated in the winter (2006/7).

Accommodation:
A sofa can convert into two single beds or a double bed, and there are two put-u-ups. So the villa can accomodate up to 10 people, at a squash. Calendar prices are for 6 people. Each extra person is charged £100/week. There is also a cot/play pen.
 

The furnishings are simple, with original art works, and ethnic bedspreads and rugs. There is enough cutlery and crockery to entertain. The outside washbasin is for sandy shoes and beachballs etc, while the outside shower starts warm then goes delightfully fresh as the water is drawn from the tank. The extensive library has reference and fiction. 

Very large terraces, covered and open, are on all sides of the villa. The lower covered terrace is used as an open-air sitting room all the year round. The path infront of the villa leads straight to the port, with access to tavernas, restaurants, taxis and hire boats, yet because of the elevation, the villa is private and quiet. There is no need for a car.

The villa comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin and 1 cots. . This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

This is a non-smoking villa

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a east facing garden, a south facing patio area, a west facing balcony, sea views, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking and a garage with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside walking, cycling, mountain biking.

Close to the villa you will find a beach, swimming, sailing, boat hire, fishing, climbing, a museum, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find ...nothing specified.

Many beaches and retaurants are within walking distance, or can be reached by taxi. Walking tours.

Alonissos and the smaller islands are in a MARINE PARK, with exceptionally clean water.

Review submitted by non-Villarenters customer: Fig Trees has been our regular family haunt for the past 14 years and while it is always tempting to try and keep a precious thing to yourself I can understand why the owner is offering it for rent and just think it will be nice for more people to appreciate the magic that both the villa and the island have to offer. The villa and the island both have a timeless, peaceful air about them that is difficult to describe. The only way to understand it is to experience it for yoursleves, which I recommend.
