The apartment
This recently built house is quietly located on a slope at the edge of the forest and the village, enjoying panoramic views over Hoefen and the ski region of Hahnenkamm. Within 5 minutes from the house you will find the ski lifts and the cross-country trail. Hoefen (869 m) is a beautiful quiet village at the feet of Hahnenkamm (2000 m), in direction Lechtal. Reutte is the main town in the area, and is 3 km from the property. From property you have direct contact with nature. In summer season, the alpine flower garden of Hahnenkamm deserves to be visited. There are beautiful trekking paths, for both beginners and skilled trekkers. The castles of Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, Ettal and many other are worth a day visit. Still in the region, visitors can endeavour in climbing, biking, horse riding, sailing, swimming, tennis, trekking, skiing, cross-country, snowboarding, paragliding, fishing, etc., according to the year season.

There is also a dry-room for ski and trekking clothes, and a surrounding garden. Daily bread rolls delivery to the door.

Hoefen
Hoefen is one of the youngest settlements in the Ausserfern. Farming has always been important in this area and the village is still home to some working farms, as well as some light industry.
Up until 1464 Hoefen provided the only viable crossing of the river Lech. Those on the trail of history may be interested in the former house of painter Josef Anton Koepfle, who decorated his house in classic style.
In 1956 a small landing field for gliders was built and in 1957 the Hahnenkammlifts followed. Festivities play an important part in village lift and Hoefen is known for its different clubs and organisations, such as the choir, the sports club and the cultural group, which put on an impressive programme of events for a small community.
Summer in Hoefen
The Hahnenkamm lift is not only an attraction for the winter months - an extensive network of walking trails leads out from the top of the lifts. The alpine flower trail and the "barefoot" trail should not be missed.
Höfen is also connected into the bike and walking trail network into the Lech valley and the Tannheimertal, and from here half day and full day excursions can be easily organised.
Winter in Hoefen
The Hahnenkamm - Reutte ski area is the big attraction in winter - a small but demanding set of runs above the village of Hoefen. As well as the beginners lift at the base of the mountain, the ski area offers a quad chairlift, a double chairlift and a cable car. The area is almost completely covered by snow cannons to ensure snow cover the entire winter.
Cross-country skiing is of course also available as part of the Ausserfern network of trails, as well as an ice-climbing tower, moonlit tobogganing and ski shows.

The ski pass can also be used in the Tannheimer Tal as well as in the Allgaeu giving access to 81 lifts. Restaurants are available at the top station of the gondola, the Singer Huette and the Cilli Huette. From 16:30, after the last gondola has returned to the valley, the Ramba Zamba Apres Ski Train awaits in the bottom station.

The Reutte lift company, in co-operation with the Hoefen Ski Club, offers two ski shows, with demonstration skiing from the Skischule Hahnenkamm 2000, special children's days, ladies' days, Valentine's Day Specials, jam sessions, torchlit descents, boarder cross and speed skiing.
Hahnenkamm in Sommer
The Hahnenkamm is not only a highlight of the Reutte region in winter - in summer it becomes a walking eldorado. The dawn ride up the lift is always an attraction for the guests in the area. The dawn lift leaves every Tuesday in summer at 05.00 and the Hoefener Alm and the Lechaschauer Alm offer a traditional mountain breakfast.
Although there are walking trails all over the area, two particular highlights are the alpine flower garden with its varieties of mountain blooms and the "barefoot trail". The "barefoot trail" starts at the top station and leads to the Hoefener Alm.
Other possible walking goals are the Gehrenalpe, Musauer Alm, Frauensee, Gehrenspitz, Schneetal, Tannheimer Tal and the Gaichtspitze.
Summer Events: Mountain Folk Dancing, Full Moon Walk, Stargazer Evening and the Nordic Walking Course.
