Built in two sections around a spacious covered terrace, this cleverly designed mountain lodge offers simple, comfortable accommodation that works equally well as a romantic hideaway for a couple, a quiet spot for families whether seeking access to outdoor sports or just to get away from it all, and as a holiday destination for groups of friends who will enjoy long evenings on the terrace with the barbecue and plunge pool adding to the party mood. 

In the very heart of Bulgaria, your holiday home is a base for visiting historic towns, cultural and tourist attractions including Apriltsi, Troyan and Troyan Monastery, the craft exhibition centre and natural history museum at Oreshaka, the towns of Lovech, Gabrovo and Bulgaria's medieval capital Veliko Tarnovo. 

An added attraction is the range of outdoor pursuits and sports available around Apriltsi. The area is particularly favoured by hikers and mountain bikers (mountain bike hire is available from Apriltsi tourist office, likewise detailed information about routes and hiking trails). Other activities available in the area include horse riding, fishing, caving and paragliding. The property owners will be glad to advise you on how to access these. 

As of May 2008 the lodge now benefits from a brand new solid fuel central heating system, with the new wood burner in the living room providing heat to radiators installed in all the other rooms, including the bathroom. The pool is a small plunge pool, ideal for cooling off, enjoying the mountain vista and the beautiful landscaped garden. The covered terrace is the centrepiece of the holiday home and is fully furnished with a large dining table that seats eight comfortably.

The lodge comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin and 1 cots. The property also has 2 double bunk beds located in the living room, which doubles as a twin bedroom and has a mezzanine ceiling with a double sleeping berth on it. The mezzanine ceiling is accessed via a loft ladder and can be curtained off.. This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The lodge has 1 bathrooms for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The lodge has television. The music system will play cassettes, radio.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Sophy says: "The lodge is in a magnificent location, with fantastic views over the mountains. It is wonderfully quiet; the only noise is from birds and crickets. While we were there we saw lots of interesting birds, including an eagle. Our toddler much enjoyed exploring the house and garden and splashing in the pool. The only slight drawback was that she needed constant supervision because of the gradient of the garden and the presence of the pool. We used the lodge as a base to explore the surrounding area, as it is within easy reach of Troyan, Gabrovo, Etar and Sevlievo. It was lovely to return from a busy day sight-seeing to the peace and quiet of the lodge. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and we were very well looked after. The lodge is perfect for anyone looking for a really quiet holiday home, with the option of things to do and see in the vicinity."
