This luxurious apartment is on two floors and situated in a villa which dates from the 16th century and was once one of the old convents of Barga. The building stands just below the Duomo (cathedral) and was extensively restored in 2000-2001. The location of Villa Speranza on the walled perimeter of the ancient centro storico (Old Town) is ideal in that it provides tranquil atmosphere and stunning views over the surrounding hills while all the facilities of the town are within strolling distance.

 

The apartment is very spacious and luxurious with a flexible configuration. It can be rented either with 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, or for smaller parties, with two double bedrooms and one bathroom. The property is superbly equipped with every comfort. There is a spacious private West facing sun terrace with table and chairs, ideal for an evening cocktail or a quiet read. A portable barbecue can be provided if required. In addition, Piazza San Felice with it’s gardens and panoramic seating areas lies adjacent to the villa.

Barga is an optimum location from which to explore the variety of Tuscany. Florence, Pisa, Lucca, the Cinque Terreand the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean coast are all with daily reach as is the ski resort of Abetone and the nearby great national park of the Apuane mountains offers stupendous hiking.

 

The property has been restored to a high standard while maintaining its unique character and offers luxury with every modern convenience. The rooms are spacious and adorned with Tuscan paintings and some are furnished with fine antique furniture. The views over the surrounding hills are stupendous but the calm and peaceful traffic-free piazza fronting the villa is only 3 minutes walk from all the shops, restaurants and facilities of the town. The villa is warm in winter but cool in summer owing to its thick walls and the fact that Barga stands at an elevation of 440 metres (1300 feet).

Barga is ideal for those looking for the unique experience of living in a small mediaeval town with a peaceful environment but with a lively programme of activities. Barga has it’s own 18th century theatre and is renowned for its summer opera and jazz festivals. The restaurants of the area offer traditional Tuscan food and wines at easily affordable prices for the family.

The apartment is luxuriously equipped and consists of 3 double bedrooms, two of which have superb panoramic views over the hills surrounding the town. There are two bathrooms one of which is en-suite with the largest bedroom and has a Jacuzzi hydromassage tub,s eparate walk-in shower cabin and twin hand basins. Teh second bathroom has a full bath tub with shower. There is a large covered terrace where guests can relax with a book or take an evening cocktail while watching the sun go down. The living areas are spacious and cool in summer but warm in winter.

The apartment comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 double sofa bed. This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The apartment has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The apartment has television satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.
