We bought our Villa about 5 years ago and we have extensively
renovated this property to a very high standard.

Take a ride in a Donkey Cart, go fishing, splash in the pool or just sit and relax on your own private balcony whilst admiring the stunning views in the Bulgarian countryside

The Villa is enormous and we would never have dreamed of owning such a large property in England.
Its great for families and has all the mod cons, dvd players satalite tv etc.

Grantleigh Villa is set in a prominent position enjoying uninterrupted panoramic views of the the Bulgarian countryside.

The villa is overlooked by no one as the land at the rear of the property has been designated as an Eco Tourism site because of its outstanding natural beauty, its rare flowering cactus, its rivers and lakes and even a prehistoric dinosaur site. There is also an old secret Roman Village for you metal detector enthusiasts.

We have your own private pool to use and extensive outside patio areas to relax and explore.

The Villa has six double bedrooms five of which have there own private balconies with stunning views, and one bedroom with two single beds.

We have two large garages a large utility room with washer dryer, a very large kitchen diner with dishwasher and very large table seating 14. There is a log burning fire in the kitchen.

You can hire a car at the airport or in Veliko Turnovo or get a taxi or bus very easily, we can advise you on how to do this once you have booked your holiday.  

Our Villa is situated in Pushevo a small village about 10 kilometers from the ancient city of Veliko Turnovo.

Pushevo village is a lovely small and friendly place it sits on the side of a hillside and only has about 50 residents.

The river Yantra runs through the village and you can sit on the bridge and fish or paddle in the clean water.

There is a shop where you can buy almost anything or sit out side and have a drink of the local beer Zagorka for about 20p a pint.

Time stands still in Pushevo, your local form of transport is a donkey and cart, and everyone grows there own fruit and vegetables etc.

The locals are so very friendly, they wave as you drive past, or invite you in for a drink of Rakia, a potent Bulgarian home made brandy, be careful its very very strong!.

If you need eggs for breakfast ask at the shop and they will send you to a local who keeps free range hens, you can collect your own eggs if you like, they taste fantastic.

Its like stepping back in time here ,no one seems to have a care in the world, just sitting and chatting and enjoying the hot Bulgarian sunshine.

Only a short distance away is a fantastic swimming pool complex with bar and restaurant , its a very large pool with showers etc, and in there is live entertainment in the bar every night, its great.
In the summer months they even have famous Bulgarian singers performing outside in the complex .. Fantastic..!

Im sure you will relax and love it here. If you want something a bit more lively then dont worry just get a taxi for about 3 pounds, or hire a car, or catch the local bus, or donkey and cart, in to our nearby city of Veliko Turnovo,, see next paragraph 

Veliko Turnovo used to be Bulgarias Capital City it is a magical place full of cobbled streets museums churches shops restaurants you name it VT has got it, but it still retains its charm.

The river Yanta winds through steep hillsides through the center of the city and the houses and shops sit on the steep hillsides, its so stunning.

You can get a three course meal with wine for less than 10 pounds or you can shop at one of the many designer boutiques.

You can buy silver or gold jewelry or fine paintings, or visit the brand new bowling alley /cinema where you can see a top film in English for just a couple of pounds.

Everything is good value for money here your pound goes a long way, but dont think that Bulgaria is backward with its trends in fashion etc,Veliko Turnovo is a University city and the young people here dress very fashionably.

You can buy designer goods everywhere much cheaper than in England, its great!.

Veliko Turnovo is a magical place that im sure you will fall in love with. Its rated as the most beautifull city in Bulgaria. 

We also have free use of fishing tackle, as there are many rivers and lakes nearby. A basket ball net , bat and balls, badminton rackets etc. The Garage is set up with a disco ball lights, music system and large beer fridge for parties at the side of the pool, its great The recently installed satellite system has over 100 channels.. Sorry no Corrie but you can get free english premiership football and all the latest films complimented by large Widescreen TV. In winter months the weather can be very cold. we have an open fire in the kitchen and the living room, and electric radiators in all rooms.

The villa comprises 7 bedrooms in total; 6 double, 1 twin. The property also has 1 double sofa bed located in the Kitchen. This gives room for up to 10 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 3 bathrooms and 3 WCs for your party's use.

The villa has television and home cinema with video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls.

There is room for 10 in the living room and 10 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a summer house, a south facing patio area, a south facing balcony, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking and a garage with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside swimming, fishing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, historic sites.

Close to the villa you will find shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, climbing, skiing/snowboarding, scuba diving, a museum, a theatre/cinema.

Go Carting, Bowling, and many other activities can be found in the nearby town of Veliko Tarnovo.

Erin says: "I can’t think of anything negative to say about this villa, everything was great. There were ten of us altogether, and the villa was big enough for all of us easily. The kitchen is a great size, as is the dining table, and the living room and all the bedrooms were roomy as well. We never expected such a decent sized pool, either! It fit all ten of us comfortably and the raised wall around it as well as the swing chair outside makes a great place for a bbq and drinks. As a group of ten 18 year old girls, none of us able to drive, transport was a major concern. But we got taxis from Sofia airport to the bus station and then got the bus to Veliko Turnovo. The Buses were cheap and though the journey was a few hours it was air conditioned and they showed a film in English. We were picked up by Paul, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay, and after that we managed to order taxis in Bulgarian. A few days later we found a man called Bobby, who spoke English and who’s taxi number is in the villa on the noticeboard, who also charged us hardly anything! So travel was far easier than we expected. And I have to mention the two best places we visited, because they alone are enough to bring me back to Bulgaria. Hotnitsa waterfall was lovely on such a hot day, and a lot of the locals go there to swim as well. It was amazing, and if we’d discovered it sooner on in the trip then I’m sure we would have gone at least one more time. There are two waterfalls going into the pool, and the water was great to swim in even though if you stayed still long enough you could see the fish! We then climbed up to the top of the waterfall so we could see the view, which was incredible. When we walked back a bit we discovered many more bridges and smaller waterfalls and pools behind the main one, but by that time it was time for us to go home. I wish we’d explored it more, and I urge anyone else going there to do so. We also visited some incredibly preserved roman ruins, apparently from the 3rd century BC, and the name has escaped me but Paul took us and had been several times before. We walked along a genuine Roman road, and put one of our party into the sewage system underneath the road, before we even came to the ruins of the town. This was the most impressive thing we saw the whole week and being able to walk around what was left of the buildings and touch the old stone carvings is something I won’t forget! This is something you’d find in plenty of other tourist spots, but it almost certainly wouldn’t be free or so empty! And I’m sure in any other country we would have been told to stop messing around in the old sewer system… The Villa seemed to have something for everyone in our group. Going for walks around the village, getting a taxi into town, or just relaxing in the pool. I just can’t recommend this property enough. "
