Villa Theodora is an old rural home dating from early in the 19th century, located in a peaceful cul-de-sac in the traditional centre of the village. It has been extensively enlarged and provided with modern amenities whilst preserving its old world charm, set in a beautiful secluded garden with patio and 10 by 5 metre pool. The area is completely safe for children. Bakery, minimarket, pharmacy, tavernas and restaurants are within a short distance.
We are a small English-Greek family business totally committed to ensuring that our guests enjoy the holiday of their choice. Paul, Lula and Lionel all live very close to the villa and are on call twenty-four hours of the day, but we respect our guests' privacy and wait to be approached. Newcomers arrive as strangers, depart as friends. Nobody has ever left with a scowling face!
The villa is the venue for Agios Ioannis Music Week in early September every year. In the event of inclement weather the lounge seats forty-five as well as performers, without anybody sitting on the organist's lap, which gives some idea of its size.
At Christmas, Easter and other festive occasions as many as sixteen sit for a meal in the kitchen-diner.
Villa Theodora, whilst its own patio, pool and grounds are totally enclosed, is separated from Villa Sofia by only a narrow cul-de-sac. For groups of eight to twelve persons it is possible to rent both villas.
Corfu is not a large island and we are right in the centre. Because of our central location everything that you may need is within easy walking distance or only a short drive or bus journey away. 

Agios Ioannis is right in the centre of the island with easy access to beaches on both east and west coasts, town and airport. The village has slumbered for centuries under the olive and orange groves. It is now a centre for quiet family holidays, but night-life with discos and such-like are within easy reach.
The village square with its taverna at which parents sit chatting, nibbling and sipping while watching their children playing in a multi-lingual babble is only 100 metres from Villa Theodora. The taverna also serves delicious meals at very reasonable prices. Nitsa, wife of Kosta the proprietor, aided by her younger daughter, Anna, and Nikos, her son-in-law, prepare meals that attract diners from all over the island. The local four-star hotel on the opposite side of the square, together with apartments and villas all around, does not compete in the catering stakes but send its guests to Kosta's taverna for their meals.
Some thirty years ago Agios Ioannis was the first place on the island to be "discovered" by visiting back-packers who set up the tents amid the olive groves in what is still known as "The Cactus Hilton". Some of those earliest visitors still return bringing their children or even their grand-children, certain of the warm welcome that the residents extend to every tourist who comes to enjoy our pleasant climate and beautiful environment. Such is its attraction that we have diversified into land and property sales with building management in order to assist the number of our guests who want to find residence here. Lula has become a licensed estate agent! 

Renting a car or hiring a boat, both of which we can arrange, are ways to enjoy the spectacular scenery of Corfu. Stop in a mountain village and sample the delicacies at the local taverna; gaze at the magnificent scenery. Moor at a deserted beach for a picnic or tie up at a landing stage-for a meal at a waterside taverna. Follow in the footsteps of the Durrell family (and other animals!).
Town, too, has many attractions with a wide variety of shops, restaurants, cafes. Wander through the ancient streets; climb the massive fortifications; marvel at the ornate churches; admire the picturesque buildings.
Take a day-trip to mainland Greece or Albania or to the beautiful nearby island of Paxos.
Corfu has something to offer for everybody.
However there are only three burger-bars in Town and not many anywhere else on the island. The numerous cafes, restaurants and tavernas take pride in preparing and cooking their food on the premises. Corfiots are justifiably proud of their catering skills and only organic ingredients are used; genetically-modified junk has no place here. Even in the smallest taverna in a little mountain village a hungry tourist arriving unexpectedly will find that thick slices of crusty locally-baked bread with a Greek salad of lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onions, olives, chives and herbs, topped with chunks of feta cheese and slices of salami, washed down with the local vintage, will amply satisfy his needs.
There is virtually no crime on the island. The oldest and the youngest can wander around in complete safety day or night.
The only disruptive elements, British lager-louts, are segregated in a remote resort and nearly all the police move in with them. Elsewhere the population quadruples during the season with tourists from all around Europe and as far afield as Japan mingling happily together.
 

The pool and garden are open to the sun throughout the day, much of the patio from 10 a.m. onward.. Sunbeds and umbrellas are provided. In the lounge there is a "classical" two-manual-and-pedal organ which our resident organist is willing to demonstrate to anybody interested. Also anybody suitably qualified is welcome to play it. Although domestic towels are provided, guests are asked to bring their own bathing towels. Cleaning days are Monday and Thursday or Friday. We try to avoid causing inconvenience to our guests.

The villa comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin and 1 cots. The property also has 1 single sofa bed located in the In lounge. This gives room for up to 7 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The villa has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio.

There is room for 15 in the living room and 15 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this villa.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside swimming.

Close to the villa you will find a beach, sailing.

Aqualand, a large waterpark, is 1 km away. All beach and sporting pursuits are within easy reach.

Corfu Golf Club is only 4 km from the villa. Theatre, cinema, historic sites, museums are nearby.
