Barx and La Drova are situated in the high valley of La Safor, between the mountain ranges of Buixcarro and Monduver, at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level, and enjoys a pleasant climate. Barx forms part of the community of the Validigna 'Mancomunidad de la Validigna' made up of the villages of Tavernes, Simat, Benifairo and Barx. The apartment is situated in the centre of La Drova approx. 4 min drive (20min walk) from the village of Barx with its many bars and shops including two small supermarkets, butchers, bakers, tobacconist, bank, chemist etc.
 

La Drova must rank as one of the most beautiful, secluded and convenient urbanisations in Spain. Set some 1,500’ up in the mountains, La Drova rests within a lush valley bounded by mountains on two sides. Monduber, the highest mountain at 847m (2,500’+), dominates the area with its sharp summit clearly visible from all directions.
Five minutes drive takes one to the charming and ancient village of Barx where a traditional and vibrant Spanish life continues, as it has for generations. La Drova itself has a bar/restaurant and an excellent and well run sports center which has a large swimming pool, tennis court and a games facility. Wonderful walking,
 

The village of Barx is a 20 minute walk from the villa (not to be recommended in the middle of summer). Gandia and the nearest big supermarket are a 20 minute drive away . It is essential to hire a car for your stay as the local public transport is erratic. The train service from Gandia is excellent and Valencia City centre takes less than an hour. Benidorm is only a 45min. drive with its theme parks (Terra Mitica) and water parks. Other places of interest are Xativa 30mins, Simat monastery 20mins and Guadalest 50mins. The apartment is also ideally positioned for the Americas Cup 2007 in Valencia

The apartment has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 3 in the living room and 2 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The area is beautiful and the setting of the apartment is stunning - swam every morning in the pool with a gorgeous mountain backdrop. Ian and Jackie, as everyone else says, are perfect hosts. They totally respect their guests privacy but are always happy to help if needed. The apartment was spotless and extremely well equipped. The outside areas offer both sun and shade and are very private. Finally, Sky/e the dog IS great - she'll soon have her own fan club at this rate! "
