Casa Cuevos Abichuelos
The Montefrio holiday cottage is reached by a short, but very steep, walk or drive up from the Town square. There is limited on road parking. The Casa is close to local shops in Montefrio where all daily provisions can be bought. There are 2 interconnecting bedrooms within the holiday cottage; One has a double and a small single and the other 2 large single beds - ideal for a family of 4 or 5.
Downstairs there is a traditional dining area with modern kitchenette and a living room with wood burning stove and TV/DVD player.
Casa Cuevos Abichuelos (literally the house of bean caves!) is a peasant cottage situated in the most picturesque quarter of Montefrio, Andalucia. It is located high up, close to the spectacular Iglesia de la Villa. Imagine yourself sitting on the roof terrace, sipping the local wine with an uninterrupted view over the surrounding town and landscape of Andalucia.
Montefrio has been largely untouched by tourism - a chance to experience the real Spain and Spanish cuisine away from the turmoil of the Costas.

MontefrÃo is situated about 57km from Granada, at the foot of the Sierra Parapanda. Surrounded by mountainous slopes of olive trees, the village has been declared of historic and artistic interest and is one of the most beautiful and enchanting places in Spain.
The Inglesia de la Villa perched on top of a dramatic rocky outcrop gives the town its unique profile. It was built in the 16th century on the former Arab stronghold to mark the triumph of Christendom.It is possible to visit the Inglesia by a short but very steep walk from the Casa. from the tower there are breathtaking views over Montefrio and the surrounding Sierra Parapanda.
Close to the town is the site of the magnificent Penos de la Gitanos (Gipsies Rock) An area of outstanding natural beauty with numerous prehistoric tombs which have been lovingly preserved by the current landowner.
There are many local tapas bars and restaurants serving delicious traditional Spanish food and drink. At the olive oil factory run by a co-operative of local olive growers you can stock up on supplies to take home.
Montefrio also boasts a public outdoor lido.
With Granada only a 40 min drive away, a day trip to the Alhambra Palace is a must.
