Isn't it beautiful !
Its even better when you get inside. It could be the spiral staircase with the plant growing up through it in the centre of the building. It could be its own Turkish Bathroom (Hamam), it could be the glass domed ceiling. What will you fall in love with?

"The Villa really is like a little castle in the sun. Clean & well equipt, beautiful views, peace & quiet....what more could you wish for? Huseyin was very helpful but unobtrusive. You do need a car & the steps could be a problem for the very young or very old, but our party ranged in age from 45 - 75 & we all had a great time. We would definately recommend it & hope to return."

"great villa in fantastic quiet location, need a car to get the best out of it & will be better when surrounding building work is finished"

"Lovely recently constructed villa of character in a quiet area, with superb sea views. Well maintained pool with sunny patio. Well furnished and clean. Air conditioned and all windows have mosquito nets. Caretaker visited regularly and spoke good English. A bit remote, but this is not a problem if you have a car."

"Dear Sarah and Steve,

As promised just a short email to let you know our thoughts on the villa at Gumusluk…

I say "short" because it can be summed up in one word…. "Perfect!!!"
I do not often get to use that word but that is how we both felt about our stay. Everything involved in was as good as it could have been!

From the booking via Villa Renters, right the way through to be delivered back to Bodrum Airport, we could not fault one single thing.
The villa itself exceeded all our expectations! It is a beautiful villa, furnished very tastefully and in keeping with the locale. The layout and design is superb and we particularly liked the opportunity to sneak out for a quick dip during the night!!! (Although it was a tad chilly!!!)
Seriously though, we thought the location was excellent - close enough to the sea for an easy walk, close enough to the shops to easily get supplies etc and yet far enough away to give us the sense of peace and isolation we were looking for.
From the moment Vika and I arrived (in the middle of the night!!) to be greeted by Husseyin with a warm welcome and a cold beer, we knew we had made the right choice.

We had a beautiful time here and although we spent most of it either on one of the local beaches or by the pool, we also took the time to find a couple of superb local restaurants and have look around Gumusluk itself!
We did not want to leave and want to return soon - possibly next year!
I have no hesitation in saying that this was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays I have had for a long time and I know Vika feels the same way!!
Lovely villa, lovely location, great holiday… What more can I say except… Thank you!!!

Regards and best wishes,

Nigel and Vika.

"The Villa was perfect for what we wanted. It was quiet, peaceful and in a lovely, romantic location. Just the place to get off the World for a while!! Everything we were told would be done, was done - from the Airport transfers, to the pool being cleaned every day, to half a dozen cold beers in the fridge when we arrived at 11:00 pm!! Sarah and Steve, the owners, could not have been more accomodating and we were looked after by Husseyin throughout our stay (who was always available but never intrusive!) I have no hesitation in recommending the Villa to anyone who wants a great value holiday, in a superb location, staying in excellent surroundings!! (But take plenty of mosquito repellent - they get VERY hungry in the evening!!) Thanks to all for helping us have a truely wonderful holiday! Nigel Streeter."

"Reviewing: Koyunbaba (Shepherds) Villa, Gumusluk Bay (Property Ref: 2982) 30/09/05
Photo's do not do this property justice, building and view lovely. Much building work going on nearby but not intrusive or noisy (and behind property so you can't see it!). Car essential, so glad we had one. A lot more than 30 mins from Bodrum airport (unless you have helicopter!). Pool chilly but refreshing (Sept) and cleaned regularly. Stone BBQ with lovely view, fly screens and shutters on all windows and good air-conditioning in all rooms. Nearby 'Limon' restaraunt a must and Yalikavak market on Thursday. Young children prepare to have your cheeks pinched a lot! Smashing holiday, much recommended, thank you."

Peace and Tranquility
Gumusluk (Goo-moosh-look), is on the opposite side of the Bodrum Peninsula, about 20 minutes by car or local minibus from Bodrum. The village is still a lively fishing port, (5 min drive) with more than a dozen fish restaurants along the sea front, displaying a wide variety of locally caught seafood.

Once the ancient city of Myndos, the village is now in a conservation area, so no cars are allowed in the center. The westerly aspect of Gumusluk provides some spectacular sunsets, aperitif in hand listening to the evocative pop-pop sound of the single piston fishing boats chugging their way into the harbor is a pleasure not to be missed.

The Bodrum Peninsula has a wonderful bus (dolmus) service with regular buses serving all the different resorts. A car is therefore unnecessary. If you really want to explore though, it is easy to arrange car hire either in advance, via the Internet, or locally.

A car is highly recommended as there is so much to do and see, it would be a missed opportunity not to have one. Richard M says: "We are a little late in supplying a testimonial. This is because we have dilemma. Tell the truth and we might be instrumental in bring someone to Koyunbaba (Shepherds) Villa just when we wanted to go back- and boy do we want to go back. Tell a lie and we may possibly diminish the great sense of wellbeing, rejuvenation, contentment, etc etc. that we gathered from our visit. We don't want that so we will settle for the truth. The Villa is simply wonderful! Outstanding design, exceptionally well cared for and located in a beautiful place. Rarely can one admit that expectations have been exceeded- they were, and they were already high. Yes, it was very good value. And we would be delighted if a friend acted on our recommendation. To spend a holiday in such a place and be taken care of by a manager whose favourite phrase is "no problem" - well it takes some beating. And the negatives? Firstly, a car is a must! And then there is the Silver Beach Hotel- ah if only it wasn't there. Richard M Keenan."
