Villa Janet immediately captured our imagination because of its location - tucked into the top of an unspoilt French hilltop village. With views of the vineyards below and the hills beyond, you can sit and relax and watch the world go by.
The pool is set into a rocky outcrop and backed by the stub of the old castle wall. There is a sun deck with sun loungers and aterrace with large garden table and chairs. A big open fire, which used to be used by vine pruners in winter as a lunchtime gathering place, now serves as a barbarque. There is an additional small barbarque for small parties.
Comfortable and spacious, the house has some shade from the hot summer sun.

The house is the last one at the top of the old circular road which winds up to the top of Fouzilhon village. Beyond the house the road turns into a donkey track and curves round to come out at the little church square. It is a delightful place to take evening strolls in the narrow streets and passageways of the village itself or to venture further into the vineyards on the plains below the village.
There is a small play park for children.
The bread van comes 5 mornings a week and the butcher's van once a week.

Shopping
Shopping is in nearby Magalas and Gabian. Both are 5 minutes drive away. There is an Intermarche supermarket in Magalas. Gabian has a chemist, post office and several local food stores including a bakery with excellent pizzas.
You do need a car for this holiday. Car hire is reasonable at airports and petrol is cheap in France.
There are 4 adult bikes at Villa Janet for your use.
 

The medieval town of Pezenas is the 17th century capital of the region - Langued'oc. The tapas bar in Place Gambetta, a beautiful medieval square, is a perfect place to end a stroll through a tour the architectural gems of the town. The are lots of inexpensive restaurants too.
There is river swimming at Real for all ages with deep pools and a shallow beach for small children. (25 mins)
Canoe hire makes for a more adventurous day out. (25mins)
The long sandy beach at Cap d'Adge is only 45 minutes away even in peak period by back roads.
The Oppidium d'Enserun is a Roman hilltop town in the shade of trees. Below is aview of the fascinating medieval drainage pattern created by monks.
Montpellier is a chic city only an hour by train from Beziers, making from an effortless day out.

The village house comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 2 twin and 1 cots. . This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The village house has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use.

The village house has video. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this village house.

Well behaved dogs are allowed at Villa Janet.

The village house is in a very quiet area. It has a private swimming pool, a east facing garden, a summer house, a patio area, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking.

The village house is right beside swimming, walking, cycling.

Close to the village house you will find tennis, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the village house you will find a beach, golf, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, a themepark.

River swimming for all ages & canoeing under half an hour away. Lovely local walks.

Fiona says: "When I first arrived at Villa Janet I thought it would be good but it turned out to be fantastic. We all decided to call the cat smokey because whenever we had a bbq she turned up! And I named one of the kittens Jasper. The pool was great I went in almost everyday. And the view from sun terrace was brilliant. The church was really pretty. The bread van had tasty bread and yummy sweets and the lady in the bread van was very friendly. The beaches were great fun. I had loads of fun, I want to live at Villa Janet! (Erin, Age 9). The adults had a fabulous time in a great part of France in a Villa in a beautiful setting with a well equipped kitchen and great showers !"
