Villa Arimas is conveniently situated approximately 8 minutes walk into the town centre, 15 minutes from Harbour & Beach Club. 5 minutes walk from the weekly market, 1 minute to the nearest Restaurant/Bar (there are over 100 more in the near vicinity), 2 minutes to nearest Bus Station & Shop.


GROUND FLOOR

The air conditioned ground floor consists of front door leading from gardens & parking area into entrance area with cloaks and cupboard /drawer storage space leading to open plan living area with leather 3, 2, 1 suite, Wide-screen satellite TV currently receiving signals from the hotbird satellite and giving access to BBC News 24, CNN and approx 8 other English speaking TV stations, quality DVD & music system’s (a selection of music CD’s, movie DVD’s, books and game’s are also available) Indoor dining area with seating for 6. Large open plan kitchen area with fridge freezer, dishwasher, cooker & hob, microwave and all the utensils, crockery & glasses you may reasonably need during your stay. Ground floor bathroom with toilet, wash hand basin and shower unit. Double glazed patio doors lead to superb outdoor terrace. Wide, feature marble spiral staircase lead’s to the first floor.



FIRST FLOOR

First floor accessed by the wide marble spiral staircase leading to two air conditioned double bedrooms both with en-suite facilities, queen sized beds and breathtaking sea & mountain views. The master bedroom is equipped with hairdryer and has double glazed patio doors leading to a very large balcony with seating in which you can relax and absorb the stunning scenery.


SECOND FLOOR

The wide spiral staircase continues to the top floor where you will find a large air conditioned twin bedded room, Laundry Room, wet room with shower, toilet and wash hand basin. Here you will also find the large roof terrace with superb views over Kalkan, you can relax here in the evenings and enjoy the sunset over the Taurus mountains.

OUTSIDE

Outdoor dining area and your own private pool with superb views over Kalkan and the turquoise waters of the bay. Here you can swim and while away the hours relaxing on comfortable sunlounger’s. Gardens surround the villa on three sides. On site car park. (The pool has no shallow end however a paddling pool may be available for toddlers and a large swimming pool with shallow areas and many other facilities is available very nearby)
 

Kalkan descends to the sea in terraces of whitewashed houses, its steep cobbled streets and colourful harbour sleepy under the midday sun.

Once the sun has set, the pretty seafront and picturesque alleyway’s come alive again when visitors and local’s stroll along to their favourite café or restaurant or wander around the Aladdin’s caves That line the principal backstreets’

The little carpet bazaars, arty jewellery shops where lovely pieces are made to measure in silver and gold, turquoise and amber. Here even the fruit, vegetable and grocery stalls stay open until bedtime alongside a handful of outdoor cafes and a few Bar’s catering for varied musical tastes.

Diving down the narrowest of alleyways you soon find yourself in the intricate maze of old houses – some crumbling, some restored – draped in swathes of brilliant bougainvillaea.

During the day Kalkan is almost alarmingly laid-back, as visitors either choose to enjoy the absolutely crystal clear waters lapping the Lucian shores, or go off exploring the wealth of fascinating sites nearby.

The shingle beach next to Kalkan harbour was recently extended and is more than adequate for swimming and sunbathing, but one of the joy’s of staying in this area is to explore the area by sea taxi or dolmus.

At Kalkan’s “Beach Clubs”, just a short boat ride from the harbour, you can swim or snorkel in astonishingly clear waters off the rocks, whilst beautiful Kaputas Bay, between Kalkan and Kas, offers a delightful sand and pebble cove at the mouth of an impressive gorge.

To the west of Kalkan lies Patara, a stunning and undeveloped nine mile stretch of soft golden sand, where the evocative ruins of a once fine city protrude from the encroaching sand dunes.

Patara was voted the world’s best beach in a survey of 100 tour operators conducted by the Sunday Times in 1998!!

Going on a languorous “Blue Cave Cruise” on a fishing boat around “Mouse” and “Snake” islands to secluded coves will give you a taste for further exploration.

Located in the heart of Lycia, Kalkan offers easy access to many of the great classical sites, almost all of which are in stunning natural surroundings.

You can explore up in the mountains, entering a lush region of lakes and streams, pastures and alpine villages.

At the village of Bezirgan you can watch as carpets are woven and at Arycanda there is a wonderful archaeological site, whose remains and setting rival those of Delphi.

At Kekova you can hire a boat over to the pretty little harbour at Kale and clamber up to the hilltop Byzantine fort past the eerie sarcophagi of the ancient Lycians.

Peering from the boat into the pellucid blue waters you may spy the sunken city. At Letoon, the half submerged remains of Leto’s temple are now inhabited by frogs, whist at Xanthos, enigmatic inscriptions and bizarre harpy tombs occupy a dramatic hilltop location.

However you choose to spend your days no one can resist being back in Kalkan by evening time, for the variety and quality of eating places on offer is quite astonishing for such a compact village.

You can sit cross legged on killims or floor cushions and be served with Turkish dishes in the traditional way or indulge in an orgy of fresh seafood in one of the smart waterfront restaurants. There are even little back street restaurants so low key that visitors may never notice them – just the place to enjoy delicious and genuine local cooking.

Magical surroundings, a dash of relaxed sophistication and a seemingly limitless variety of places to explore make Kalkan irresistible. One visit is never enough- you will be back!!!

The villa comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin, 2 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 4 bathrooms and 4 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has television and home cinema with video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The location of the villa means you will hear some noise, though not excessive. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, a south facing balcony, sea views, panoramic views, interesting views. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside swimming, walking.

Close to the villa you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, cycling, mountain biking, scuba diving, historic sites, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find climbing, horse riding.

SEAN says: "Myself, my wife and our two children visited the Villa Arimas in August 09 and we were all very pleased. While both my wife and I enjoyed the spectacular views over the harbour, the kids loved the spiral staircase and the third floor was a real bonus for our 13 year old son who could take himself away from us all as it had its own bathroom. All of the rooms were furnished lovely. The aircon. worked very well which we needed as it was very hot. The market is a must on Thursday and is about 100yds from the door. The walk to the harbour is about 10 to 15 mins, but I would recommend a taxi on the way back. The Samira apartments are next door, which is great for lunch and a large beer. Kalkan is beautiful and all in all we would certainly recommend."
