Villa Sofia is an ideal choice for families or large parties seeking an alternative holiday venue from hotels or small self catering apartments with a large open-plan lounge/dining area fully fitted kitchen, first floor balcony and roof terrace and of course a private swimming pool with beautiful views of the sea and Taurus mountains from every aspect of the villa. A car is not essential as the village is within 10 mins walking distance and there is an excellent and cheap taxi service in the village. 

Kalkan was once a small fishing village but is now a popular tourist area however it is not over crowded and has retained its character and charm. The village slopes down to a beautiful harbour and Mediterranean bay. You will find an amazing selection of restaurants together with music bars, jewellers, tailors & local arts & crafts shops. Kalkan itself only has a small pebbly beach hence it has not attracted mass tourism however in and around the bay there are beach clubs which are rock gardens cut into the hillside. They all provide sunbeds, have a bar/restaurant and watersports such as water sking, jet ski bikes. banana boats and ringos are all available and are reasonably priced. Kaputas Beach which is a magnificent shingle cove is only a 10 minute taxi drive and Patara beach, 18 km of golden sand is 30 mins away. From the harbour you can hire your own boat for the day or join a larger party and cruise around the islands and bay stopping at the secluded coves and beaches for a swim, catch your own fish and have them BBQ'ed for lunch on board. In & around the village you will meet the most helpful, friendliest & genuine people who seriously can not do enough for you to ensure your visit to their village is memorable and that you or your friends will visit again.  

Saklikent Gorge is approximately 35 mins from Kalkan. Turkey's deepest gorge, with the coldest mountain water you will ever encounter. Xanthos, letoon & Patara are all ancient Lycian ruins which are worth visiting and are all easily accessible from Kalkan. Drive up into the Taurus mountains and take in the wonderful views and visit the local villages such as Islamlar which is renowned for its trout farms and Berzigran which lies in a fertile plain some 1500 mtrs above sea level. Day trips to places such as Kekova, the sunken village, Dalyan Delta which are a little further away can be arranged locally in the village as can private car hire which is very good value for money. The Kalkan market takes place every Thursday, about a 5 min walk from the villa. There you will find a huge variety of copy designer goods from Versace jeans to Gucci handbags. linen, silver jewellery, watches, handmade local pottery and every conceivable spice, flavoured tea and of course Turkish Delight! You are expected to haggle the prices and can get some excellent quality bargains. 

The villa comprises 5 bedrooms in total; 3 double, 1 twin, 1 single, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 9 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 4 bathrooms and 4 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has television and home cinema with dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds.

There is room for 9 in the living room and 9 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this villa.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, a south facing balcony, sea views, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Close to the villa you will find a beach, water skiing, boat hire, fishing, walking, scuba diving, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.
