Icarus House was completed in January 2005. It is a three bedroomed house occupying a corner position. It boasts a roof terrrace, a balcony, two patios, small garden areas on three sides and private off road parking.
Inside there is air-conditioning in all the bedrooms and in the lounge/dining area. The units double up as heaters for the cooler winter evenings, and there are halogen heaters too, should they be required. Please note when comparing prices that some places charge extra for air-con, which could add up to quite a sizeable amount for a property this size.
The property is well-equipped in a modern style. The tiled roof terrace has sun loungers, a barbecue and a good view over the swimming pool. From the roof terrace an internal marble stair case leads down to the first floor, where the three bedrooms all have built-in cupboards with drawers and hanging space (and hangers). There is a balcony leading from the main bedroom. There is also a family bathroom on this floor as well as a shower room and additional toilet on the ground floor.
The lounge area has two double sofa beds, 2 armchairs, a TV with many English satellite channels, a DVD player, and a radio/CD player. The dining table seats six, but extends to accommodate eight easily. Sliding glass doors lead from both lounge and dining areas to outside patio areas.
The kitchen has granite worktops, a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer, oven, hob, extractor hood, kettle and toaster as well as plenty of glasses, crockery, cutlery, pans and utensils.
There is also an iron and ironing board and 2 hairdryers.
The complex has a large swimming pool with parasols and sun loungers for the use of residents and their guests. There are also poolside changing facilities, showers and toilets.
The property is situated in a mainly residential area it is within walking distance of numerous bars, restaurants, shops etc. but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to allow a peaceful nights sleep.

One of the many great things about Paphos as a holiday destination is the short transfer time from the airport. We can arrange for a taxi to pick you up at the airport. This will cost from about 30Euros depending what size vehicle you need, and you should be in the house within half an hour.
On average the sun shines for betweeen 320 and 340 days a year in Cyprus (depending on which web-site you look at).
However, Cyprus is not just about sun-bathing. Why not come in spring, when the weather is pleasant, if not hot, but ideal for hiking, and for visiting the many sites of historical interest whilst they are less crowded.
Dont worry if your Greek is not great, as most of the locals speak English. Driving is on the left and electricity is 240 volts with 13amp square pin plugs just like U.K.
Theres something to please everyone in Cyprus. From relaxing by the pool, to doing a different activity every day. From the nightclubs in bar street, to the nature reserve on the nearby Akamas peninsular. From secluded rocky coves to organised sandy beaches with sunbeds and parasols. From fine dining in restaurants serving cuisine from all over the world, to local authenic tavernas. You can even ski in Cyprus, though to be honest you probably wouldnt come to Paphos just for the skiing. However, the Troodos mountains are close enough to drive to for the odd day or twos skiing if you just wanted a taster (you can hire ski kit there), rather than commiting yourself to a whole skiing holiday. (Our prices are at their cheapest in Winter too!) 

Activities in and around Paphos include swimming, scuba diving, water-skiing, and other watersports, horse-riding, golf, tennis, bowling, walking, cycling. There are lots of places to visit, especially if you like ancient ruins or Byzantine churches. Theres also lots for the nature lover. Loggerhead and Greenback Turtles nest on the beaches on the Akamas peninsular, and the rare moufflon may be glimpsed on the forested slopes of the Troodos mountains if you are lucky.
You dont need to hire a car as our house is within walking distance of both Kato Pafos and Upper Pafos. Kato Pafos is the more touristy area, with numerous restaurants and bars, etc. Nightlife is good, with plenty of bars and clubs staying open until the early hours, but without the excesses of Ayia Napa. Theres a picturesque harbour with views to the old fort. Theres a wealth of ancient ruins - visit the rock tombs or see the ancient mosaics at the House of Dionysis. Theres an aquarium, a choice of beaches, banks and shops. In Upper Pafos there are more banks, shops and cafes and a theres a market catering for both locals and tourists. It sells a range of items from fruit and vegetables to souvenirs. Nearby is the bus terminus, with buses to other major towns in Cyprus.
Local tour agents can arrange a variety of outings - coach or mini-bus trips to the many places of interest, jeep safaris, donkey rides, boat trips, mini-cruises to Rhodes, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt - even a day trip to Egypt by air.
If you do want the independence of your own hire car, then you can visit all the above and more at your own pace. There are good roads between the major towns, but for some areas a four-wheel drive would be more suitable.
 

The house comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 2 twin. The property also has 2 double sofa beds. This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The house has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the house cool.

The house has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The house is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a garden, a patio area, a balcony, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Close to the house you will find a beach, water skiing, boat hire, fishing, tennis, scuba diving, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the house you will find sailing, wind surfing, walking, cycling, horse riding, golf.

stephen says: "the property when we walked in looked like a palace, very spacious just as described on the website its easy to tidy and keep clean very child friendly and sleeps lots of people, its not very far to the local kiosk (very convienient) and the pool is right outside your back door, the only thing we will be doing in september is taking plug in mosquito repellers, and we will be returning to icarus house as its fully equiped with everything you need and exellent value for money i would recomend it without a doubt (its a must)."
