WHY PRAIA DA LUZ?
Casa Del Martin (No.31, Fontainhas), is part of an estate called Moriados do Mar. It is a brand new terraced Villa just 5 minutes walk from the heart of Praia da Luz. It is particularly spacious at 175m², has three large bedrooms - one en suite, with its own balcony, and can easily sleep 6 people (and a couple more in the lounge on the sleeper sofa, if necessary). The house has views of Luz beach and the cliffs, and over the ocean. A large lockable double garage is located beneath the patio which overlooks the ocean. It is only a very short 5 minute walk to the lovely family beach at Praia da Luz and there are supermarkets only 3 minutes walk away and many restaurants within a 5 minute walk, one literally on the doorstep.
Praia da Luz is a great family resort towards the western end of the Portuguese Algarve coast. It has a lovely sandy beach approximately half a mile long and backed by a palm tree lined promenade. At the eastern end of the beach there are spectacular cliffs and at low tide there are rock pools that adults and children alike will love to explore. At the western end of the beach the sand gives way to large flattened rocks where those who like to lie by the sea, but avoid the sand can relax. Praia da Luz has plenty of restaurants which range from cafes and beach bars through bar/restaurants and bistros to plush restaurants. There are several supermarkets and other shops and boutiques, a chemist, bank, internet café, post office and a medical centre where good English is spoken. There is one small nightclub on the sea-front.
There are outdoor pools open to the public in Luz, from Luz Bay Hotel, also with tennis facilities, gardens, bar/restaurants, etc., and at least another public pool in the centre of Luz.

GETTING TO PRAIA DA LUZ
From Faro:
The best way to get to the house is flying into FARO airport in the Algarve, on either on TAP, BA or MONARCH airways....its about 50-60 mins drive on a new Freeway (Motorway) from there to Luz. Go to http://www.flightcomparison.co.uk/flightcomparison/flights/flyfarofao.htm to see flight options. Most Car rental companies are represented at Faro airport..... From Faro Airport, follow the signs for Faro N125 on the dual carriageway. This shortly becomes a single lane. Keep right
• Take the exit signed Portimao. Loule .Lisboa
• Follow the road until it joins another dual carriageway. (You should see new car showrooms on your left at this point).
• Continue straight at the signs marked IP1 (IP One) –125
• This road turns into the A2. Take junction 4 towards Lisboa Portimao and Albafuria This road goes round onto dual carriageway and is A22 ( marked Loule Centro and Lisboa) Just continue on this road until junction 1.
• Junction 1 is marked Lagos and Villa Do Bispo. Follow the road down the hill and you come to a big roundabout go straight across. The next roundabout is marked Lagos to the left and Vil do Bispo to the right
• Take the right turn until you come to a staggered set of traffic lights, the first right turn will be signed for Espiche, just continue on to the second set of lights, which will have signs for Luz..... Turn left here.
• Continue over a gentle rise and continue down to a roundabout – take the first exit right.
• You go pass the back of some cream coloured houses on your left marked Vila Serena.
• Continue 300 yards past Vila Serena and the road will gently sweep down a hill.
• At the bottom, and before the road turns up the hill on the left is the entrance to Moridos do Mar estate. Turn left into the estate, and immediately turn to the right.
• The road curves around. At the end, turn right, looking towards the sea, and then right again at the 3rd road. Look for House number 31.

From Lisbon:
1. From Lisbon it takes about 2:30 hours to get to Praia da Luz.
2. Take the bridge called PONTE VASCO DA GAMA . You will find from the airport signposted the A12 (motorway). Follow the Algarve direction.
3. Once you are down in the Algarve, at the A22 motorway you must choose the Portimão direction. (Towards the West and your right hand side) and only exit this motorway in Lagos (exit 1).
4. Once you exit the motorway, take the road 125 towards Sagres / Vila do Bispo. About 3 kilometres after you will find a development called Boavista on the left and after this a cross road to Luz where there are traffic lights. Do not turn there. It is better to go to the next turn to Luz, to the traffic lights about 3 kilometres further next to Espiche, there take the left turn, which will go to LUZ. About 2 kilometres down the road, you will find a roundabout, go right to the Burgau direction. Follow this road for 1 Km and take a left turn where it says LUZ, CENTRO. Go slowly here because as soon as you turn left to Luz, you must turn right immediately on the first turn. You will have here yellow villas on your left. (This development is called “Paraiso da Luz”)
5. Next turn left on the first road, and follow this road that makes a sharp curve to the right. Now you will have on your right white houses with blue stripes. This is Moridos do Mar development . To get to Villa 31, turn right after the third row of townhouses. Park your car, go around the house and head down towards the sea. At the end of the house, use the staircase go upstairs to the 'front' door. There is a lockbox with a code (to be advised later...)
