The historic towns of Alcobaça and Batalha are also an easy drive away.  Praia del Rey golf course, approx. 25 Km distant, is ranked no. 1 in Portugal by Peugeot's 2003 Guide and 13th best in Europe by Golf World. Near the Lagoon of Óbidos, the Foz do Arelho beach is a place where nature offer us exceptional therapeutic qualities and an extensive strand. Surfers usually choose this beach.
In the small quay, you can buy all the various specimens that the Lagoon has to offer, such as: sort of mussel and cockle. Fine esplanades and restaurants by the beach and visitors can appreciate different fish dishes like fried eels, cockles and the famous “Lagoon fish stew”.

Óbidos
This delightful town of white houses adorned with bougainvillaeas and honeysuckle is entirely surrounded by medieval walls built by order of King Dom Fernando (14th century).
The town, which is forbidden to car traffic, is entered by various gateways, of which the most outstanding is the southern entrance, decorated with 18th century tiles.
The castle, situated at the highest point, was built by order of King Dom Dinis (14th century), who gave it as a wedding present to his wife Dona Isabel, the Holy Queen, and it now houses one of the most exclusive country-house hotels in Portugal, with only six rooms.
The nearby Óbidos Lagoon, the largest in Portugal, was originally an inlet on the coast, at a time when the sea used to bathe the foot of the hill on which the town of Óbidos is located.
As the sea gradually receded, this area was almost closed, becoming a favourite spot for fishermen due to the abundance of fish in its waters, and nowadays it is a popular summer resort.
The most important annual events in Óbidos are the celebrations in Holy Week (re-creating the steps on the Way of the Cross), and the Ancient Music Festival, which takes place in October.

 

The sea on the one side, and the golf course on the other side, that stretches out to the dunes, cliffs and pine trees. Only a few kilometres away there is the walled village of Óbidos, with its medieval atmosphere, and the thermal spa of Caldas da Rainha, which has a rich artistic heritage.  

The villa comprises 5 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 3 twin, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 10 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 4 bathrooms for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The villa has dvd, satellite/cable. Recreational activities available with the villa include table tennis.

There is room for 10 in the living room and 10 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, glassware, cooking utensils.
