We have now finished the extensive renovation and modernisation and this house now offers a very comfortable home to rent in this spectacular part of Andalucia.

The result is an original town house in the middle of a pretty Andalucian village with all the modern comforts of a new build. There are two bathrooms, three double bedrooms, kitchen, lounge, dining room and two terraces, one with a small spa tub, which look out over the village rooftops and to the mountains beyond.

The road network to the village from Almeria and the autovil del meditarraneo is excellent and makes visiting other areas and attractions very easy, especially as the roads are mostly deserted; a busy day is a moped and a donkey.

The village is approximately 40 minutes from Almeria airport and 40 minutes from the costal resort of Mojacar. It’s an ideal location if you want to travel into the hills, spend a day on the beach or take in the cultural delights of Granada, knowing that at the end of the day peace and tranquillity will be waiting for you back at the house.
 

When we bought this house in 2003 we were looking for a rural retreat away from the crowds of the costa but not so remote it took three days by donkey to reach. We knew we didn’t want new and so eventually fell in love with a wreck of a village house in Ueila del Campo, the older parts of the house date back well over 200 years.

We have now finished the extensive renovation and modernisation and the house now offers a very comfortable home in this spectacular part of Andalucia.

Occupying a corner position and with a large terrace on the first floor and another smaller terrace on the second floor, you’ll find plenty of places to sit and sip your coffee as the sun comes up and slurp your wine as it goes down. The village caters for all your basic needs with three bars which also serve food, a bakery, small supermarket and a couple of banks, all nestled around the village square.
 

Nestling in the Sierra Filabres mountain range the village is a typical rural Andalucian agricultural village where the villagers earn their keep from the surrounding land which includes olive and almond groves together with citrus fruits.

Friday is market day when stalls set up in the square selling everything from fruit and vegetables to espadrilles and ceramics. It's more of a social event than anything else.


There is a swimming pool in the village, which is a five minute walk from the house and is usually open during July and August.

There are three bars of which two sell very good tapas and one has outdoor tables and chairs. There is also a bakery, pharmacy, post office, small supermarket, hardware store and a bank (Cajamar). At the top of the street you'll also find a very good pharmacy.

A spectacular church which is well worth a visit sits on the hill at the top of the village opposite the town hall.
 

The village house comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The village house has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use.

The village house has television video. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The village house is in a very quiet area. It has a east facing patio area, panoramic views.

The village house is right beside walking, cycling, historic sites, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Close to the village house you will find mountain biking.

Within easy reach of the village house you will find a beach, swimming, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, climbing, flying, skiing/snowboarding, golf, tennis, a sports center, scuba diving, a museum, a zoo, a theatre/cinema, a themepark.
