The property stands on the upper floor of a Xth Century Byzantine Monastery overlooking the Mediterranean Sea (20 minutes from Amafi, 20 min from the highway). Not easy to describe by words this unique property! The grotto, into which the Convento is located, provides a fantastic natural shelter, purple bougainvillea, ancient cotto pots full of geranium and amazing 1000yr old frescos plus a breathtaking view on the sea will make your staying at the Convent unforgettable. The property is conceived as three areas connected by a 200 square meter terrace. The main building is provided with three bedrooms (two doubles and one twin) and two bathrooms plus a sitting room endowed with a fireplace. In the annexe there are two more sleeps and a bathroom. The Kitchen is independent and provided with barbeque and washing machine. The decoration, an elegant and colourful mix of local antiques and Moroccan pieces, will make your staying at the convent, pleasant even during the mild winter.

 

'Il Convento' is located on the Amalfi Coast, south of Naples. The string of delightful bays, sandy beaches, lemon trees and colourful bougainvillea lend these places a unique charm. The climate is Mediterranean par excellence, the food markets are generous and lively (the best mozzarella and tomatoes in Italy), local people are genuinely friendly. All the area is renowned for its wines and cuisine. The beauty of the landscape makes Il Convento one of the best starting point for many daily cultural excursions. Visit Amalfi (20 min by car), Ravello (25 min) and Positano (40 min). Or visit Naples (one hour by car), with the amazing Museum of Capodimonte, the rich collection of the Archeological Museum and the beautiful promenade in the old town. Highly recommended are also a daily trip to Pompei (45 min by car) and a daily trip to Paestum with its perfectly kept Greek temples.
 

This is our holiday favourite house. It belongs to our family since 30 years. It has been restored and finely decorated to enjoy beautiful and unforgettable holidays on the Amalfi Coast all over the year. Once you get there it is very difficult to leave the place even for few hours...the alchemy of all the ingredients it is just perfect. We hosted several guests coming from all over Europe and they all stayed speachless... I know it is risky to trust the owner....please do it you will not regret. During the summer you have a huge variety programs....I would avoid tourism and relax at the Convent, considering just a, trying but worth, daily walk to the underneath bay. In winter time here you have all the tourist destinations on the Amalfi Coast, plus Naples, Pompei and Paestum just round the corner. A taylormade itinerary can be provided  

The penthouse comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 2 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 9 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The penthouse has 3 bathrooms for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the penthouse cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The penthouse has television video. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 10 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The location of the penthouse means you will hear some noise, though not excessive. It has a south facing patio area, a north facing balcony, sea views, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The penthouse is right beside walking, cycling, historic sites.

Close to the penthouse you will find a beach, swimming, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, tennis, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.
