Carabonela is a white village dating back to Roman times though the Moorish and XVIth Century are more evident. It is located in the Las Nieves Biosphere surrounded by lemon, orange and olive groves. The views down the Guadalhorce Valley towards the sea are magnificant. Within 45 minutes are beaches, shopping malls, the Ardale Lake District and the El Chorro dam. Hiking, climbing, fishing, walking, swimming (durring summer at local pool), horseback riding and quad biking.

Ruairi says: "The property was ideal for me. very clean with comfortable furniture.The fact that it was advertised as a non smoking house was an added bonus.
It would not suit children or the elderly as the stairs were too steep and one of the landings was too narrrow to be safe.
The town was lovely with an excellent bakery and fish shops (when you could find them! a location map would have been useful.
The only critizm that I would have is with some the locals necessity to treat the town as their motocross circuit. The racket created by their motorbikes ruined the tranquility of this sleepy laid back town and on occasions they were reckless and dangerous in their driving. "
