Renovated in 2005, this pretty little gite is fully self contained. It is set in an acre and a half of Normandy country side, with small farms on all sides, however, Avranches, the major town in the area, is but a short drive away.
The gite is ideal for 2, in the twin bedroom with ensuite facilities; however, a further two people can be accommodated on the sofa bed downstairs.
Travelling there is easy, as it is just over 1 hour from the ferry ports of St Malo and Caen, and slightly longer from Cherbourg, Le Havre and Roscoff. Dinard and Rennes airports are an hour away. The superb French motorways make using the short sea crossings to Calais or Boulogne feasible, thus enabling the thrifty traveller to take full advantage of the cheaper ferry crossings.
 

The fully equipped kitchen has: gas hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer and dishwasher. The keen cook will find a good selection of kitchen tools, saucepans etc. and there is plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses.

In the dining area, there is a table and 4 chairs.

For entertainment, we have a satellite TV which receives English TV and radio programmes, and a DVD/CD player, so bring your favourites with you.

There are plenty of English and French paperback books, available to borrow and there is a selection of guide books and games. The guest book lists some of our favourite restaurants and we would be delighted if you would add to the list.

The comfortable sofa bed can sleep 2 people.

On the galleried first floor, there are two twin beds, with an ensuite shower room and separate WC with hand basin.
As the building is well insulated, it is delightfully cool in summer and easily heated in winter, thus allowing for all year occupation.

In front of the gite you will find a table and chairs, for al fresco eating and there is also a barbecue.

There is ample car parking.

 

This area is idyllic for walking and cycling and there are many marked routes.
Mont St Michel is visible just over the ridge and can be reached in 30-40 minutes.
Avranches has a museum which contains the manuscripts from Mont St Michel and the skull of St Aubin, who built the monastery.
Bayeux, with its world famous tapestry is a short drive up the A84 towards Caen and can be combined with a visit to the Normandy Landing Beaches.
The more energetic are well catered for! There are numerous golf courses within an easy drive: sailing, sand yachting, horse riding, go carting, or for the really adventurous, a micro light trip around the bay of Mont St Michel.
The gently sloping sandy beaches are ideal for small children, and adults will be delighted with the many wonderful restaurants. We provide a list of restaurant recommendations for all price ranges.
France’s premier salmon fishing river is close to the gite and in season, licences may be bought in the local shops.
Avranches and Brecey have swimming pools and the zoo at Champrepus near Villedieu, is wonderful for small children and adults alike.
The towns of St Malo and Granville have casinos and many chic boutiques.
All the surrounding towns have market days, where superb provisions can be bought including: freshly caught fish, shell fish, local cheeses and cream, flavoursome chickens, ducks, and many types of locally raised meat.
Most supermarkets in Avranches, have some English speaking staff.
 

We provide duvets and pillows for the 2 twin beds and the double sofa bed in the downstairs living area . However you will need to bring bed linen, also towels and tea towels. Please note: there is no electric razor point in the property.

The gite comprises 1 bedrooms in total; 1 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 double sofa bed located in the downstairs, in living area. This gives room for up to 4 people.

The gite has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The gite has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 4 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The gite is in a very quiet area. It has a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking.

The gite is right beside walking, cycling.

Close to the gite you will find swimming, fishing, horse riding, a sports center, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the gite you will find a beach, sailing, boat hire, wind surfing, flying, golf, tennis, historic sites, a zoo.

The gite has been updated since we last stayed and the little perks - like the bottle of bubbly in the fridge, and the coffee, tea and milk, were a lovely surpirse :-) The property was clean and tidy and well equipped. The property was lovely and warm, which was great as the weather wasn't fantastic - the DVD and English TV was an added bonus for the night we chose to stay in.
