A car is essential if you would like to explore further afield, if you just want a quiet beach holiday it is not necessary.

Facilities near by, is a sailing school golf course, supermarkets, restaurants, car hire, quad bike hire, cycle hire, fishing, and lots of beaches.

Cycling Trips
The owner runs cyling trips aimed at all levels, tailer made to your requirements, it is the best way to explore the local area, July and August is not a time I would reccomend these trips because of the heat. How easy can it be! Just phone for the bike and they will be delivered straight to your apartment, daily rates are reasonable and they include a helmet and lock. 

There are various Beaches, including the one infront of your apartment, which stretches for miles. Other beaches which are worh a visit include Calablanque, it is an amzing unspoilt beach, rolling hills are its back drop which take form as a completly undeveloped national park. The sands are golden and completly uncommercialised, there is not even a restaurant or toilets, its very popular with the Spanish, and it is huge so never gets busy. It is a 25 minute drive away.

Natural Pampering, THE MAR MENOR EXPERIENCE, IT FREE!
The climate conditions of the Mar Menor, with high numbers of hours of sun per year and its high salinity, have brought about the deposit, over the centuries, of clays for therapeutic treatment in various areas on your doorstep in the Mar Menor. The most recent study carried out by the University of Murcia in 1995, shows that these sediments contain a high percentage of positive ions, calcium, magnesium, and potasium, in addition to negative ions chlorine and sulphate.


What does it do?
The mud basis has a therapeutic action and it has a powerful absorbtion power. Its mineralising, and its capacity to neutralise acidity and its stimulating effect help to heal wounds. Fot his reason its use is recommended for many types of skin Pathologies. One layer of clay applied to the skin absorbs all the toxins of the peripheral system of the connective tissue and eliminates lymphatic toxins of the dermis.
Its high calorie conductivity also makes it appropriate as an anti- inflammitory element in cases of rheumatism, arthritus, gout, and rehabilitation after breaking bones. It is also recommended for throat infections.


Application

It is recommended to start application of mud baths on aregular basis, but only on small areas first, to test there are no side effects. Leave on for approx an hour, then wash off. Gradually apply more generously over the body, some even cover themselves completly then wash off. There is an area close to your apartment where you can find this mud, ask Stephen and he will tell you where it is.

From MAY - OCTOBER There is alittle corner shop 5 minute walk form your Apartment.

Small boutiques to large department stores can be found in the near by city of Cartagena.

Markets
These are held daily in diffrent areas, the nearest being Cabo De Palos every sunday. There is also another one in Santiago Ribierra, which you can get to by boat from Tomas Maestre. Santiago Ribierra can be got to by boat from Tomas Meastre, runs every two hours.

Restaurants
Tomas Maestre, only 15/20 minute walk from you, is full of restaurants over 30 cosmopolitan restaurants, very peaceful area and benefits from some fantastic sunsets. You can also cahrter saling boats and go on diving excursions from here.

Cabo De Palos, 15/20 minute drive, at the begining of the La Manga Strip, is a traditional fishing port, and older more traditional feeling, the restaurant mainly specialise in Seafood, it is also famous for Diving.


Water Sports
La Manga is very famous for Kyte surfing and windsurfing. the Mar Menor is the largest salt water lagoon in europe, the other advantage it is very shalllow, so it is safe and warm which has its advantages for novices.

Site Seeing
Cartagena, just 35 Kilometers form La Manga. It forms from an ancient Port founded by Carthagians in 221 BC, with ruins of a Roman Theatre, their are a number of archaelogical museums also.

The Mar Menor a ten minute walk from the apartment contains a multitude of minerals, which cures many ailments. 9 hole golf course 5minute drive from apartment, bring your handicap card! The famous La Manga Club is only a short drive away, and amougst three 18 hole golf courses, 50 tennis courts, and a fantastic Health Spa which is open all year round for non members, for a small fee. La Manga itself is also famous for Kyte Surfing and Diving at Cabo de Palos.

The apartment comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 double sofa bed located in the living room. This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The apartment has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the apartment cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The apartment has television dvd. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 5 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The apartment was equipped for living and much better than the usual holiday let with many thoughtful touches added by the owner Steve. Steve was based locally, greeted us on arrival with much useful local information and checked with us to make sure that we were OK during the stay. With relaxing and eating space on the balcony, we had a great time there. The location near to the end of La Manga strip meant that a car was almost essential. We have already recommended it to our daughter."
