Yellow Bird is a lovely, spacious one bedroom detatched house, overlooking the Caribbean Sea at Oualie Bay, Nevis. The house is slightly elevated, being built into the steep lower slopes of Round Hill. Nestled into a half acre private, mature garden with a private pool, sundecks and balcony, there are magnificent views across the 'Narrows' towards the south east peninsular of St Kitts. Oualie Bay Beach is directly opposite Yellow Bird and access is a mere 4 minute stroll from the garden gate. Oualie Beach is quiet and sheltered with superb swimming. Many of the island's beach activities are located at Oualie including PADI diving, snorkelling, windsurfing and sunfish sailing. The Oualie Bay Beach Hotel has a very good restaurant and small bar, popular on Saturday evenings when it hosts to a traditional Nevisian String Band. Yellow Bird is fun and cosy, very spacious, light and bright. Perfect for couples and honeymooners, with plenty of privacy and seclusion without being too isolated. 

Oualie Bay is located on the north eastern coast of Nevis. It has a very sheltered crescent shaped beach, tucked between Hurricane Hill to the east and Tamarind Point to the west. It is a pretty, scenic, hilly area with just one small beach hotel, bar and restaurant. The other properties are private villas, hugging the coast and built into the lush hillside. Oualie Beach, Nevis is directly opposite Turtle Beach, St Kitts and a small jetty at Oualie is anchor to the small charter boats and water taxis that make the crossing between the two islands. There are lots of activities to seek out near the beach but it remains a quiet, unspoilt sunspot. To the east of Oualie Bay is Lovers Beach, which at about a half an hours walk away is an almost deserted, undeveloped stretch of much wilder, Atlantic shoreline. Cades Bay and Pinneys to the south are also beautiful Caribbean side beaches, with a few bars and the largest hotel on the island, The Four Seasons. 

Nevis is the smaller of the two island federation of St Kitts and Nevis. The islands are part of the Leeward Island chain and are blessed with a near perfect climate. Rarely exceeding late 80's farenheight and rarely dropping below mid 70's, the islands are constantly cooled by seabreezes and tradewinds.
Rainfall is plentifull, particularly in autumn months, making the islands lush and tropical. The beaches on the north and western coasts are fine white and golden sand and have very good swimming.
The conical peak of Mount Nevis rises to over 6000 feet, with rainforest above the 2000 feet contour.
Originally inhabited first by the Arawaks and then by the Caribs, Nevis's population is now predominantly Afro Caribbean, people whose ancestors settled following Emancipation.
In colonial days, Nevis had many sugar plantations and was home to some of the most beautiful great houses in the region and was known at 'The Queen of the Caribees'.
Many of these houses still survive as luxury Plantation House Hotels, whilst others now lie in graceful ruin, some even reputedly haunted such as Eden Brown. There are also still refinery ruins, dating back hundreds of years such as the strange, quiet machinery works at the New River Estate.
Today, Nevis is still beautiful and remains unspoiled for the most part. It is a very relaxed, friendly island and all visitors are warmly welcomed. 

Yellow Bird has an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. There are 5 sets of double part glazed and part louvred timber doors, leading to an east facing deck and lower pool deck, a west facing deck, and the north facing deck which looks across the Narrows to St Kitts. The pool is 15' x 15' and is 5' at it's deepest point. A pretty antique Dutch bed can be erected in an alcove within the living area to provide sleeping accommodation for a third adult or child.

The villa comprises 1 bedrooms in total; 1 double. The property also has 1 single sofa bed located in the living room. This gives room for up to 3 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use.

The villa has television satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls.

There is room for 5 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this villa.

by prior arrangement, depending on the animal and quarantine laws

The villa is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has a private east facing swimming pool, a north facing garden, a east facing patio area, sea views, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside a beach, swimming, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, scuba diving.

Close to the villa you will find horse riding, golf, historic sites, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find a museum.
