Hidden among tall pines our spacious, two story, open plan family home will welcome you to the Rockies. From the large deck or the great room with floor to ceiling windows, watch the light play on the San Juan Mountains. You have views, yet are surrounded on all sides by large pines and oak.
With the convenience of being easily accessible only a few miles from town and from the Fairfield complex, you still have a feel of being secluded and surrounded by nature. Deer often pass by in the evening or at night.
Our home is warm, yet modern, constructed of pine and cedar, in the Western style with a European flair, completely remodeled in 93. The custom built river rock fireplace flanked by the large windows, dominates a comfortable living room (two lazy-boys and an overstuffed couch) A cozy reading loft with futon couch overlooks the living room. The kitchen area, a part of the main living area, was built with the active chef in mind. The range is gas, there is a full oven, microwave, coffeemaker and toaster oven.
Up to 6 adults can be accommodated in two spacious bedrooms with double beds, plus two more on a good sofabed, separated by a room divider in the master bedroom, or on the futon bed in the loft. * The master bath has a Jacuzzi tub, the guest bath, a shower. All rooms are open and airy. Well-behaved children are welcome, but sorry, no pets.

Pagosa springs offers the quiet pleasures of the past plus every mountain activity imaginable. For a true glimpse of Western life, you cannot top this Rocky Mountain Town which has barely grown since we moved here. The focus of Pagosa is the wonderfully soothing hotsprings known for their healing properties. Pagosa signifies "healing waters" and has been a place of pilgrimage for the indigenous people for ages. Pleasantly landscaped natural outdoor pools line the river downtown (only a 5 minute drive) and are a welcoming end to a perfect day hiking, sightseeing, riding, skiing, biking - the outdoor activities here are too numerous to mention. There are hot-air balloon events in the winter and spring, Rodeos and seasonal local festivities. Consult the Pagosa website for more information.
With only 2000 residents, and growing very slowly, this is no hustling tourist town, Pagosa has the feel of rural Colorado and has not changed much in the years that our family has been here. There are a good variety of restaurants, supermarkets, stores and amenities in spite of the small size of Pagosa.

WINTER ACTIVITIES
You are looking for good skiing? Wolfcreek Pass is still a little known wonder. When the rest of the state has average snow, Wolfcreek has powder, deep and light. The drive to the area takes about one half hour. Not an aggressive skier? You will find a wide variety of runs here, plenty of slopes for every level of skiing. But if it is challenging runs you need, they are here. Experts come from surrounding area resorts for the great conditions at Wolfcreek. Which ever season you plan to visit, you will find plenty of activities to partake in and good weather. In this part of the Rockies there are at least 320 days of sun a year. Would you like to see the beautiful Aspens in an array of colors in the fall? This is the place to come. Wildflowers in the spring? That too.
For a mountain retreat with friends or family, our family home will provide a comfortable and pleasing environment for your holiday that will feel like home the minute you walk in. We moved here in 76 after many visits. ...You may just decide to do the same.

The house comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 2 double sofa beds located in the 1 in Master bed room sitting room with divider, 1 in loft area. This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The house has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The house has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The house is in a very quiet area. It has a east facing garden, a east facing patio area, a east facing balcony, panoramic views, interesting views. If you are driving there is private parking and a garage with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Close to the house you will find swimming, fishing, climbing, horse riding, golf, tennis, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the house you will find sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, flying, skiing/snowboarding.

I love the design of the house and the way it stays warm in the cold and cool in the warm. At home, we dont have the fab electric garage door, which I simply adore driving up to – it makes you feel really important that it opens for you! The little shops and restaurants in the town are great – Its a really safe and welcoming area and I was very sorry to leave. "
