Between Mediterranée sea and Pyrénées mountains, at 40 km from PERPIGNAN (Languedoc-Roussillon region),
This property, a renovated 18th-century farm, is situated above the hamlet of Rigarda, 2 km south of the village of Vinça, which has most facilities, including a lake, seasonal beach bar, tennis courts and a railway station, as well as a good variety of shops and several bar/restaurants. From here you can catch the train to Perpignan or, in the opposite direction, to the fortified town of Villefranche-de-Conflent, from where you can take the ‘ Little Yellow Train’ high up into the Pyrenees.
 

There is a lot of comfortable seating in the large 75 sq metre sitting room, which has a fireplace, billiards table, satellite TV, music system and a digital piano (please note that there are two low beams, one at each end of the room). From here there are beautiful views across to the mountains and down to the hamlet of Rigarda.

The villa comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 2 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 10 people.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The villa has television and home cinema with video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, vinyl records, cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls. Recreational activities available with the villa include a home gym, a snooker/pool table.

There is room for 15 in the living room and 10 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this villa.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside swimming, walking, cycling, mountain biking.

Close to the villa you will find sailing, fishing, climbing, horse riding, golf, tennis, a sports center, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find a beach, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, flying, skiing/snowboarding, scuba diving, historic sites, a zoo, a themepark.

Pauline says: "Lovely villa. Swimming pool - was disappointing. The owners had not got the chlorine treatment correct and green algae persisted. They were aware of the problem and had organised an engineer to come on the day of our departure. Had to pay for linen - which we thought rather expensive on top of £1850 for the villa. Would have had to pay for cleaning @ 200 euros - so we did it ourselves. No damage caused by our rental - so I hope that Villarenters can refund our £2000 before Master Card statement. £2000 - rather excessive. However, we had a lovely holiday and no complaints to worry about. The villa is just outside Rigarda - directions would have been helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Owner reply:
I have the right chlorine treatment! The pb was : these renters called me to inform me about the unclear water (as they were warned by the rental agreement they signed) so that I can go to the house to make corrections; but they told me it was not necessary as they did not use the pool! In fact, I only noticed the serious deterioration the day of their departure (they even did not wait for me leaving the house open with a two-word written message!)
Next clients suffered a lot of this act of negligence because they could not swim during several days (this was the important damage they caused during their rental). Fortunately, they had a 3-week stay and the water became crystalline again and they were delighted with their holidays at MAS MONTEBELLO.
Concerning directions, they seem to be correct as any renters did never lose their way to get to the house. Moreover, they can get a map in addition to the written text shown on "villarenters".
Concerning linen and cleaning, I do not include them in the rental price as some visitors do not need them so the price is lower.
Further to the price they found expensive, please note that the house is for 10 persons (not only 2) and includes site fees as well as its belonging to GITES DE FRANCE (5 stars, 4 "epis"), a French national guarantee of quality for this luxury house.

I must add for other potential clients that I have been renting MAS MONTEBELLO since 2000 and this is the only negative point I ever had (they say "lovely villa with swimming pool was disappointed", I say "these paricular renters were disappointed"). My renting book only contains very nice message of people (many UK visitors also!) who spent enchanting times inf this stoned farm, with its quiet surroundings, panoramic views and sun all the year.
