A large detached property with gardens, terraces, swimming pool, scenically located next to an ancient chapel and church (both unused). The terraces have been built to give fabulous views over the rolling countryside of the Dordogne. The property is very characterful, with beams, flagstone floors, and antique furniture. The modern kitchen and bathrooms are fully equiped. The rooms are large and airy, great for the summer heat... if you need to escape from it! The property is designed for alfresco living, with three outdoor dining areas, Gas BBQ, swing seats, sunloungers etc. There are two pergolas for shade, one covered with wisteria and the other with vines. A large loggia with tiled roof provides further shade and faces south for the heat of the day. The swimming pool is ideal for adults and kids. We also provide outdoor table tennis and table football on two of the front terraces. The house has all modern convienencies, the kitchen being fully equiped with gas oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer.etc. There is a satellite TV receiving SKY, BBC, ITV etc, DVD, video and stereo.  

There is a large outdoor swimming pool in the town of Thiviers, five minutes drive away. Two minutes from here is a Plan D'eau..... this consists of a lake with white sand beach for swimming and lifeguard facilities. There are table tennis tables, volley ball court, cafe and childrens playground together with lots of shade.

The Dordogne and Thiviers especially, is the centre of Gastronomy for all France. There are many fantastic restaurants with excellent food at reasonable prices in most of the local villages.

If you prefer to cook yourself there are 4 supermarkets in Thiviers and markets on Tuesday and Saturday.

This is Richard the Lionheart country, with magnificent chateaux and car trails to follow his adventures. He died beseiging the castle in Chalus which is only 25 minutes away. Knights Templar have also left their mark here with old churches and other ancient relics.

There is a large outdoor assualt course for adults and children 20 mins away called Acrobois. This is an excellent day out for active children and also has a lake for adults to lounge around.

In nearby Brantome, you can hire and canoe down the river, Brantome is also known as the Venice of the Perigord as it is a beautiful setting.

Walking and cycling opportunities abound. The Velorails are an enjoyable and safe experience for children as they are on converted railway lines.

There are tennis courts 5 minutes away in Thiviers. Golf can also be found near to Limoges, and of course Perigeux, which itself is a beautiful University city. 

 

Swimming pool, table football and table tennis are all on site and available for your use. Many fruit trees such as peach, fig, plum and vines grow in the grounds. Views over wooded rolling hills in the Dordogne countryside.

The country house comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 2 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The country house has 2 bathrooms and 3 WCs for your party's use.

The country house has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio. Recreational activities available with the country house include a snooker/pool table, table tennis.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The country house is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a west facing garden, a summer house, a south facing patio area, a south facing balcony, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The country house is right beside walking, cycling.

Close to the country house you will find a beach, swimming, fishing, horse riding, tennis, a sports center, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the country house you will find sailing, water skiing, boat hire, golf.
