Introduction
My sister, who worked in nearby Gibralter, did a lot of research before choosing La Duquesa as the place where she wanted to live in. I visited her and thought it was such a great choice, I bought one too!
I thought of buying in the Marina, but thought, no, too noisy at night! But this place is less than 5 minutes walk from all the restaurants and amenities of the Marina, and is right on the beach!
As you can see, the apartment is NOT in a high rise, pack-them-in development. It does have a certain amount of character and charm. You can sit on the terrace and feel the sea breeze.
The charming Marina and surrounding pedestrian area has some small shops and plenty of bars and restaurants - Chinese, Indian, Italian (and Spanish!), if that is what you want.
If golf is your thing, there's plenty. Less than 15 minutes walk, just behind the marina is La Duquesa golf course, which has good practice facilities and lessons for all standards of players can be arranged. There is also a Gym, Snooker, Sauna, Jacuzzi, Tennis and Squash courts that can all be used for a small charge. See www.golfduquesa.com/courses.htm for a list of nearby courses – including Valderrama, Europe’s No. 1 course, which is just over 30km away.
Behind the port are the beautiful Blanco mountains. From seaside to scenic rural countryside in just minutes. Enjoy the walks, with some spectacular views over to Gibraltar, and to the interior.

Marbella to Gibraltar apartment rent reviews
Review submitted by non-Villarenters customer: A comfortable ride journey from Malaga airport to Du Quesa which takes about an hour. The apartment is in a super setting just off the beach and right by the port with its restaurants and bars. The apartment is super clean, well equipped and spacious with two double bedrooms and a spacious lounge. One can get a sense of peacefulness because of it's interior terrace and front porch. Naturally, the beach gives lots of opportunities to wind surf, snorkel, sun worship or even fishing off the nearby rocks.
The whole area is tight/neat as well as having an intimate atmosphere; one quickly gets to know fellow revellers and there is something for everyone whether you like partying into the early hours, motor boat cruising or simply eating and people watching.
We really would strongly recommend the entire package and hope to go again sometime in the future.
