Chateau de Larunque is situated in over 3 hectares of land, part forest, part gardens with a remotely controlled gate leading to a 50 meter drive to the entrance of the property.
Inside, a magnificent entrance hall leads to very large dining and living rooms. The living room has separate double doors leading to the very spacious covered dining veranda with beautiful views of the gardens and beyond. Adjoining the living room is the pool room which also has two sets of double doors opening out on to an uncovered veranda which is ideal for sun-bathing. The entrance leads to a wide stair-way to the first floor bedrooms and the theatre. The fully functioning baroque style theatre comprises a stage, royal and orchestral boxes and sufficient seating to accommodate up to 60 guests for your theatrical or musical productions or film screenings.
The master bedroom, includes a substantial full length veranda providing a panoramic view of the Pyrenees. A further three spacious bedrooms are on the first floor including a two level mezzanine room which could very easily accommodate four children on both levels. There are three smaller rooms on the second floor serviced by a single bathroom, suitable for children and adults (under 2 metres tall).

There is satellite TV, video, DVD (with a collection of over 200 titles), table tennis, darts, BBQ and a selection of indoor and outdoor games. Weekly maid service, fresh linen and all garden and pool maintenance included.

Outside, the gardens stretch over 3 hectares including a forest, a bamboo garden, ponds and a professional double tennis court. Tennis rackets and balls are available but if you take your tennis seriously, you will want to bring your own rackets.

On the grounds, situated away from the chateau, resides a part time caretaker who is at your disposal for the duration of your stay. The villa is the second home of the owner and therefore has everything needed for a memorable holiday.
 

An idyllic location, overlooking the Pyrenees, Larunque is just three minutes from the great river Ardour and 15 minutes drive from the historic Bayonne (www.bayonne.fr) and the ultra-chic sea-side resort of Biarritz (www.biarritz.fr), which together combine to offer facilities to cater for all possible interests, be they cultural, sporting, shopping, eating out or sight-seeing. Just north of Bayonne, you will discover the endless white beaches of the Landes coast, with some of the best surfing in France. Not to be missed, just 20 minutes south of Biarritz, is the Spanish border leading to the city of San Sebastian with its stunning bay and most enchanting little shops and tapas bars and boasting all the leading department and designer stores. 

 

A 3 hectare, property,reviewed in Marie Claire Maison, with its own private indoor theatre (to seat 60) full-size tennis court and indoor swimming pool, open meadow, exotic bamboo forest and many more features.

The chateau comprises 7 bedrooms in total; 4 double, 3 twin and 1 cots, 2 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 14 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The chateau has 4 bathrooms and 7 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm. The chateau has a sauna.

The chateau has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio. A computer with Internet connection is also available for your use. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls and a fax machine. Recreational activities available with the chateau include table tennis.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 12 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this chateau.

The chateau is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, a south facing balcony, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque, a tennis court. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The chateau is right beside swimming, walking, cycling, mountain biking, tennis.

Close to the chateau you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, fishing, climbing, horse riding, golf, a sports center, scuba diving, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the chateau you will find flying.
