A WOW FACTOR HOLIDAY APARTMENT
The loft apartment is on the 2nd floor of the farmhouse with stunning views across the house gardens and pool, the farms of Les Jardins, St. Jacques and Canigou, one the highest peaks in the Pyrenees forming a backdrop behind the city of Perpignan in the distance.

the apartment has its own entrance from the garden and is a classic loft set-up with a large open living/dining area, a kitchen area, toilet and shower room. The loft apartment has two bedrooms, one at either end of the loft space. The loft is an impressive space with attractive Mediterranean colours and typical loft features such as the impressive kitchen area lighting gantry.  
THE FARMHOUSE / LOFT IDYLIC SETTING
The farmhouse and loft apartment situated in the heart of a conservation area of working family farms and gardens growing fruit and vegetables, herbs and flowers. There is even two vineyards a plam tree nursery and various tree nurseries.

The area is called - les jardins st. jacques -which historically were the gardens for the monks of the st.jacques church supplying produce to the growing connerbation of perpignan.

This is a highly sought after location locally because of its peace and quiet and yet the entrance to les jardens st.jacques is right on the edge of a very attractive side of Perpignan.

You can walk to the attractive centre of the city from the house. The majestic mountain - Canigou dominates the horizon and during the day, the gardens are a haven for many types of birds and some exotic species migrate to the farmhouse gardens.

Night times are very peaceful. Just10 mins drive from the Mediterranean, 15min from Spain and the Pyrenean foothills, this is an amazingly convenient and lovely spot. 
A HOLIDAY AREA WITH EVERYTHING
This is a truly superb region for any type of holiday you could wish for and at any time of year.

Roussillon is the sunniest part of France with app. 320 sunshine days a year with the autumn being a real treat and break from colder parts of Europe.

The Med resorts of Canet, Barcares, St.Cyprien and Argeles all with marvellous beaches are all just minutes away. The famous and beautiful Collioure, Ceret and Figueres in Spain are loaded with artistic history.

The majestic Pyrenees wrap themselves around Roussillon and tumble into the Med, the lush countryside is quite simply carpeted with sun baked vineyards. If all that was not enough, the lovely Costa Brava of Spain is Roussillon's southern neighbour.

Jo says: "An immaculately presented, stylish appartment in a beautiful, quiet setting, close to the centre of Perpignan. Many practicalities had not been considered: the 'bedrooms' advertised were actually airless, windowless partitioned off areas of the loft. The sleeping accommodation in the main area was impractical due to the fact that there were no blinds on the door or skylight. The well maintained swimming pool was much enjoyed but there were no cushions or umbrellas for the sunloungers. We were able to download and print-off some key pages from the reams of information provided on the website, though instructions for entry to the property were out of date. There was absolutely no information provided in the accommodation and no maps or directions to help us find something to eat on arrival! "

Owner reply:
It is interesting that no matter what you do or what lengths you might go to to make sure that your renters enjoy their experience, you just cannot please everyone all of the time. We are very disappointed to receive these comments which we do have valid points to make against.

I know from talking to other property owners that we go to more lengths than any of them to provide nice accommodation and facilities and as important as that comprehensive information well before the renters arrive. We take a lot of care about what we do and this apartment is hugely popular and has been for 7 years. This is the first criticism, although we would dispute many of the points made, in seven years.

It is always interesting viewing these issues in a broader context and it si ironic that the very renters previous to the burrows said..”what a lovely apartment. We will be back next year”.

In this case in early june the burrows were sent our very comprehensive photo album showing every view conceivable of the apartment. the information also included vital information on living in the sun in an old farmhouse like this plus a detailed local map showing shops and bakers and banks etc.

although we got a reply back next day from mrs burrows sayings thanks, in their review they admitted only downloading certain items. We found that previous renters were decimating the information pack left in the apartment with no thought to the next renter. so we started a few years ago making sure everyone got the vital information well in advance. This was obviously not good enough for the burrows. Although they could have walked 200yards to our very kind and helpful keyholders who would have given them a local map. Mind you, lets also put their comments into context about finding food, the property is right on the edge of a city and it is hardly difficult to find shops and bakers etc.

I suppose you could describe all new build houses with bedrooms as empty floors with partitoned off.areas??.

We used to supply cushions for loungers but their was no respect for the next renter who might want to come to the pool and relax so now we replace the loungers nearly every year and every week, a lot of work goes into presenting them nicely and renters use their own beach towels which they take away and look after because it is their own property. We used to have shades around the pool but renters asked us to move them continuously so that they could sunbath. Mind you what the burrows did not say is that right by the pool is a very nice large shaded building of quite some construction.

We cannot ever rest on laurals and each season we meet at the property to review the performance and discuss what can we do to get better. We will start from the basis that the property is much liked and that folks want to come back. It is disappointing in the burrows case that I think whatever efforts we made, they were always never going to be good enough. The way that the burrows presented the story makes it sound like we have an awful situation and that we cannot be bothered. I

I just want to say that enquiries are already coming in for 2008 and we will do everything we can to help them enjoy this lovely setting as 99.9% of previous renters have done.
