As you open the gate of this traditional house, you find yourself in a secluded romantic courtyard with an abundance of tropical plants. Table and chairs invite you to spent long hours just relaxing. You enter this traditional Greek village house and stand in the spacious open plan lounge/diningroom/kitchen with its beautiful mosaic pebble floor and stone arch, semi-dividing the living area.A large wooden table with 6 chairs, hidden lights and many stylish details add to the wonderful atmosphere.There is a large cozy oriental style sofa for perfect relaxation which can be used as an extra sleeping facility for two. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine. The working area is surrounded by small mosaic tiles and wooden cupboards blend in with the traditional character of the house. A few steps lead to different levels with the bathroom and two bedrooms where the combination of wooden ceilings and floors, iron bedstead, whitewashed walls and colourful objects are tastefully arranged to create a true Greek holiday feeling. Steps lead to the roof terrace (half covered, half open) with wooden sunloungers and chairs to enjoy the sunrise or relax with a glass of wine while watching the sunset. The view across the old village and the sea is breathtaking. 

Between Rhodes and Faliraki, on the coast road, youll find the picturesque village of Koskinou. It is a 10 minutes drive from the capital city of Rhodes. At first if you come into the village, one might think to find a very modern centre, but don’t be deceived! Leave your car at the school square and walk into the old village centre, through the alleys on the side of George restaurant. You’ll find numerous small streets and alleys, which were especially build to fool the pirates and to have them loose track of the way.

The traditional village is well known for the narrow winding roads, the church at the square, built 1873 and the large number of impressive old houses, which have interior decoration, in the traditional Rhodian style, with cobblestone floors. One you can visit - ask for more information in Jannis Taverna in the old centre (which is an excellent restaurant, and for which people come from all over Rhodes). The village is surrounded by courtyards full of flowers.

Koskinou has a lovely sandy beach, offering sun beds and umbrellas for you, to relax. Along the beach there are excellent .taverns, snack bars. For those seeking for sports, there are all kinds of water sports, along the beach and the clear inviting sea. The rocky coastline next to Kallithea, is indented by small coves.

Part of Koskinou is Thermen Kalithea beach beauty, just outside Koskinou on the way to Faliraki. Thermen Kalithea was originally a health spa, built in the Moorish style by the Italians in the 1920s. The dramatic, decayed setting and kitsch architectural features, including domed pavilions and pink marble pillars, make it a favourite venue for fashion photographers. A major restoration has breathed new life into the holiday resort which is approached down an avenue of pines. Palm trees offer shade on a small shingle beach while sun beds are scattered around a small lido. It is a perfect place for sun bathing or to relax in the quiet atmosphere of the beach. Buildings are illuminated at night to add a Disney-like glitz to the pseudo oriental atmosphere. A nearby cove is the target of many scuba diving excursions from Rodos and 15 minutes walk away is the beach resort hotel of Aldemar Paradise with water sports and similar facilities.

For the children Koskinou village has a wonderful huge playground with an inside and outside park for children called Playland. The parents can relax with a cup of coffee while the children are being attended by the special staff. Just outside Koskinou is Waterpark, one of Europe’s biggest water parks with numerous different swimming pools and all that comes along with it. 

If you are lucky enough to approach Rhodes harbour by boat you will be able to enjoy the unique sight of a medieval town slowly appearing out of the sea, an ancient yet modern city which has earned every right to be a Unesco Protected World Heritage site.
Protective stone walls surround the old town, once erected by the Byzantines and later reinforced by the Knights of St.John to keep out enemies, they now welcome visitors from around the world.
The old town is the only inhabited Medieval Town in Europe and getting lost in its maze of streets and back alleys will take you back centuries, with a blend of western and oriental architecture accompanying your every step.
Inhabited already in the 5th century B.C. Rhodes many occupants( Byzantines, Ottomans, Knights of St. John,) have left traces for you to discover. Visit the Grandmaster’s Palace, the Knights’Museum, walk up Knights Street and discover the magic at your own pace.
Living in the Old Town is an experience not to be matched. Enjoy the historic setting in combination with modern life as the bustling New Town of Rhodes lies just outside the walls.
