In Jimera de Libar - set in a wide valley with mountains around - a small terraced townhouse - 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with full bath and shower over - sleeps 2 - 4. Its four years old and in a very pretty spot south-west of Ronda, a few steps from a railway station - the line is the Andalucia Express and goes from Algeciras to Granada. There are four trains each way per day. Ronda is a 32 minute ride and the price is 2 Euros!


 

The little horseshoe of houses is virtually next to the River Guadiaro. The village - Jimera de Libar -is in a valley surrounded by a nature reserve and is a great favourite with birdwatchers. Numerous walkers and birdwatdhers websites mention how excellent the restaurant near the station is - it is a few steps from our door. There is another bar/restaurant five minutes walk away.
There is even a little makeshift bar on the river bank. 

Inside - tiled floors throughout. The living room has dining table, a sofa, an armchair and open fireplace beyond there is a separate fully fitted kitchen. The back door opens from here on to the tiny rear patio.
Upstairs are two bedrooms – one double, one twin. The twin room has a good view of mountain. There is air conditioning in the living area only.
The outdoor space is just the tiny patio at the rear. There is also the communal lawn outside front door.
Three minutes drive away is the newly constructed municipal outdoor swimming pool in a breathtaking setting a little higher up the valley.
Gaucin and Ronda (both on the train line moments from your front door) are each about thirty minutes drive. There are lots of quiet white villages around and also well-marked walks.
The Griffon Vulture is one of the wildlife spectacles in the area. The coast is about one hour by car. Or take the train down to Algeciras - about 5 Euros each way(!) and catch a boat to Africa.
 

Please note: The house is in great condition and we have just furnished it. BUT : There is no oven there is however a four-ring gas hob and also a new microwave. Towels not supplied. Bed linen and tea towels, yes. The air conditioning is only in the living room. New washing machine just installed. The patio is tiny, but fits a table and four outdoor chairs!!! You can also take the garden chairs out on to the communal garden area in front. (Very few of the houses are occupied.) You will find you have lots of privacy even out here. All of this is the reason for the low rates!

The village house comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin. . This gives room for up to 4 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The village house has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the village house cool.

The village house has television dvd. The music system will play cds.

There is room for 4 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, a microwave, a fridge, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this village house.

The village house is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has a east facing patio area.

The village house is right beside fishing, walking, mountain biking, a restaurant.

Close to the village house you will find swimming, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the village house you will find historic sites, a museum, shopping areas.

Railway line Algeciras to Granada. The station is two minutes walk.

Alan says: "Although rating is excellent there is the potential for noisy neighbours which the owners have no control over since it is a terrace. The area is weather dependent but there is plenty to do for the family with lots of beautiful scenery and walks and both a river and local swimming pool for children. (Swimming pool closes in September). "
