RONDANE Norways first National park
One of the most popular mountain areas of this country, surrounding and encompassing the impressive Rondane mountains, was made a national park in 1962 - an area, 600 million years of age, which once rose from a lifeless sea. An area where foldings of the earths crust, glacial epochs and erosions have left mighty and dramatic, while at the same time rounded and, in fact, rather friendly forms. Through thousands of years this alpine area has provided the hunters with a living, and the hunters have left their mark in the form of reindeer traps and burial mounds. With the development of mountain hiking, Rondane became one of Norways most popular recreation areas. An impressive landscape, yet easy terrain for walking. Of 10 Rondane peaks ranging above 2000 metres (6500 feet), all may be climbed by people in ordinary good shape. Good starting points for hiking are the many outstanding hotels and lodges at the main entrances to the national park, Høvringen and Mysuseter. Within the park are some of the best lodges of the Norwegian Tourist Association; Rondvassbu, Bjørnhollia and Grimsdalshytta. Dørålseter is privately owned. These are informal places where you may make new acquaintances, eat well and relax after a strenuous day. Between lodges, and to the peaks, paths marked by red signs show the way.

Lovely holiday home of a high standard set in a cottage area and with views to lake Gålå. The house offers sauna, jacuzzi and several TV-sets. Sheltered and sunny terrace. Gålå offers great hiking opportunities and there are cross country ski tracks close to the house. 1 km to ski centre. 2 km to Gålå and Wadahl Hotel. Baby cot and highchair must be booked in advance.

Linen (duvet covers, bottom sheets & pillow cases and towels) can be hired on arrival from the onsite manager. It is standard Norwegian practice not to make the beds up. This is done by the customer on arrival. You are welcome to bring your own linen if you prefer. Duvets and pillows are provided.
You should arrive at the holiday home on the first day for the holiday period before 22.00 (10 p.m.) unless otherwise stated in the rental agreement. Arrival at a later time should be agreed in good time . We cannot be held responsible, should late arrival make it impossible to gain access to the holiday home on the first day of the holiday period.
Due to the geography and the location of some of the properties in Norway. We would strongly recommend the use of a car during your stay. Public transport can be expensive and infrequent compared to the UK.
