The area
Gales (pronounced Gar-lesh) is an intriguing Romanian village which has maintained age-old traditions. There is a museum of rural life, a working water mill and a traditional hat-maker (we can arange complimentary visits, please ask).
The village is on the edge of mountain pastures, with cows, horses and goats passing by the house every day on the way to and from pasture.
