Our apartment is situated in Playa Honda La Manga in beautiful southern Spain which boasts 320 days sunshine every year. From the large balcony there are breathtaking views of the Mar Menor (the largest salt water lake in Europe) which is literally 1 minutes walk away. Shops bars, and restaurants are within easy walking distance. 

There are a wealth of activities readily at hand, from golf at the famous La Manga club 10 minutes drive away. On your doorstep every conceivable watersport is available from sailing, windsurfing. kite surfing, canoeing, water skiing and fishing. Fabulous walks are less than 15 minutes away at the Calblanque nature reserve with its fine sandy beaches and rocky inlets. If you’re here to relax then a stroll or cycle along the Mar Menor promenade might appeal. Ten minutes drive from your apartment you will find the quaint fishing village of Cabo De Palos, were you will find a host of exquisite sea food restaurants, a noteworthy lighthouse and a bustling Sunday market. 

In the summer months the strip comes alive with lots of shops, bars, and restaurants to visit together with the Tomas Maestre harbour were a ferry trip to Santiago Del Ribera on market day (Wednesday) is a must. On one side of the strip you have the Mediterranean with miles of sandy beaches and sheltered bays, on the other side you have the crystal clear waters of the Mar Menor (inland sea) which covers 120 sq. kilometres. In the summer months temperatures can reach 30*c as the water is so shallow. The Mar Menor is a super safe environment for swimming and watersports for adults and children alike, wading out for almost 200 metres before the water reaches your navel.
If you fancy culture, history, and shopping then Cartagena is less than a 30 minute drive away and well worth a visit.

The apartment comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin. . This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The apartment has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the apartment cool. The apartment has a sauna.

The apartment has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 4 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The apartment is in a very quiet area. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing balcony, sea views, panoramic views, a tennis court. If you are driving there is private parking and a garage with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Close to the apartment you will find sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, golf, tennis, scuba diving, a restaurant, a food shop.

Kate says: "We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Playa Honda. We were 5 ladies (early 30s) looking for a quiet holiday and that was what we got. The apartment was very well equipped and very comfortable. The balcony is very big which was a real bonus and gets all the late afternoon/early evening sun! The local shop was fantastic with a great deli and very reasonably priced. For beahces, recommend going to Mar Crystal (20 mins walk, left our of apartment and follow path round headland. For the med, turn right out of the apartment and just follow the beach the whole way; 45 min walk). For food, Los Belonos had lots of lovely restaurants and good value for money. Our best meal was in El Zorro. We were only there a week so didn't get a car but if we had been there longer or with children we would have. All in all, a great holiday."
