The Lysefjord is imposing and unquestionably the most distinctive fjord in Rogaland county. This is one of nature's great phenomena, which never fails to impress. From the ferry stage of Oanes and the commune centre of Forsand, the fjord carves its way inland almost thirty miles due east between high and precipitous cliffs.

Because of its imposing natural features,Lysefjord has become a mecca for hikers from over the whole world.There are numerous hikes available in the area,with the hightlight being the 4 hour hike up to the 1800 ft high Pulpit Rock which juts out over a sheer drop down to the fjord below.
Another popular way to discover this beautiful scenery is to join one of the many available boat tours of the area.
Other popular attractions include a visit to the Landa Prehistoric Village and riding the traditional Norwegian horses at Fossemoen Islandshestsenter.Also woth a visit is the Flørli power station which boasts the worlds longest wooden stairs , 4444 steps rising to 740m above sea level

For this holiday home in Norway, a deposit is paid when the key is collected, the size of which depending on the value of the holiday home. This deposit acts as security for the holiday home being passed on in a clean and presentable state and as an on-account payment for electricity. The deposit will be (£150) approx.Payable in local currency.There is a mandatory £100 cleaning charge.

Linen (duvet covers, bottom sheets & pillow cases and towels) can be hired on arrival from the onsite manager. It is standard Norwegian practice not to make the beds up. This is done by the customer on arrival. You are welcome to bring your own linen if you prefer. Duvets and pillows are provided.

Cancellation insurance in the case of illness or death.
Included in the rental is a compulsory cancellation insurance of 4%. Only those people named on the booking form are covered by the insurance.

What does the insurance cover?:
The insurance covers that part of the rental which is not refunded by on cancellation of the booking in situations where the insured is prevented from going through with the booking, or where going through with the booking is made extremely difficult: Details of the policy can be sent on request.

Arrival at the holiday home:
Where nothing else is stated on the website, on price lists or in the rental agreement, the rental period runs from the first day 16.00 (4 p.m.) to the last day 10.00 (10 a.m.).

You should arrive at the holiday home on the first day for the holiday period before 22.00 (10 p.m.) unless otherwise stated in the rental agreement. Arrival at a later time should be agreed in good time . We cannot be held responsible, should late arrival make it impossible to gain access to the holiday home on the first day of the holiday period.

Due to the geography and the location of some of the properties in Norway. We would strongly recommend the use of a car during your stay. Public transport can be expensive and infrequent compared to the UK.

lAURENCE says: "My wife and I stayed for two weeks at this wonderful location. We thought the previous review had been unnecessarily harsh. The cabin is well located...in a scenic position but not too far from civilisation and within very easy reach of quite stunning scenery - as well as STavanger itseld for boat trips and fine dining...the roads are delightfully quiet and the cabin itself exceeds expectations in terms of the facilities it offers..the pool and sauna are a brilliant plus factor..disguised behind the walls of this authentic looking cabin in the hills...all the equipment is in excellent condition and the rooms are large comfortable and warm. We were very satisfied by the value for money factor. We self -cater across the world and this accommodation is as good as any. Swimming in your indoor pool in September! Nice. the cost of the electricity which in our case was around £180-00 for the two weeks is offset by the low rental price for so well presented a facility. We didn't grudge the money in the slightest. The high cleaning charge seems a lot if there are only two of you...but if all ten beds are being slept in...it's a trifle. We were captivated by the area...delighted with the house and felt very fortunate indeed to have stumbled upon it. We would recommend it wholeheartedly. And the secret for finding your way to the lake is to take the path across from the house...walk uphill then along the edge of the wood to the end of the wood where you find a gate that leads to the path through the trees and down to the lakes side...the view is stunning, still and private... We are very glad to have found such a fine place to stay."
