Casa Castanha is close to the historic riverside town of Tavira and the beautiful sandy beaches of the Eastern Algarve. We have two 2-bedroomed villas for rent both with patio areas, brick built BBQs, garden furniture and both share the 10m x 4m swimming pool. The location is a popular holiday destination for golfers, walkers, bird watchers and anyone wishing to have a quiet relaxing time away from the crowds. We have our own house within the grounds where we live all year round with our 2 friendly dogs. Please note due to the rural location of the property car hire is highly recommended.

We would request that guests do not smoke inside but are welcome to smoke outside. 

There is a small bar and shop just across the road for daily provisions and the village of St Estevao is only 1.5 kilometres away where there is a restaurant/bar, shop, post office, cash dispenser and pharmacy. Tavira, 5 kilometres away has a wide variety of bars, restaurants, daily fruit and veg market and larger supermarkets. 

The beaches and coastline of the area form part of the Ria Formosa, a nature reserve that includes a series of lagoons and islands rich in bird and plant life. Our nearest beach is Barril at Sta Luzia which is about a 5 minute drive. The lovely beach on the lisland is reached by a small train, great fun for the kids.

There are many golf courses along the Algarve, Benamor being the closest to Tavira. There iis also Quinta de Cima and Quinta de Ria, Castro Marim and Qunto do Vale on the Spanish borde. and the new Monte Rei course all within a 20 minute drive.  

The villa comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 single sofa bed located in the Lounge. This gives room for up to 5 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use.

The villa has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a private swimming pool, a garden, a patio area, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Close to the villa you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, golf, tennis, historic sites, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find horse riding, a zoo, a themepark.
