Malaga to Marbella apartment rental details
Looking for a beach holiday?
Well you can’t get much closer to the beach than this. 4 Meters of paseo is all that will separate you from the beach at Bajondillo. And what a beach. The best beach in the area, if not in Southern Spain, you decide.
The one bed roomed flat in Roca Chica was refurbished in October 2006
The flat sleeps four. Two on a double bed in the bedroom, and two on bed settees in the living room.
The kitchen is fitted with a 4 burner electric hob, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine. There is a full compliment of utensils.
The flat is air conditioned, two units, one in the bedroom. The other in the living room. The units double as blown hot air units in the winter. There are no hidden charges for the aircon or the heating.
The living room houses the TV (sky) and a radio/cd player. My tastes in music may be a bit,?? Well you may want to bring a disc or two of your own. The unit does play MP3’discs.
The beach at Bajondillo is the reason to be here. Cleaned every day it is spotless. The area in front of the flat is pedestrianised. There is vehicle access for the bar owners for deliveries, also for the taxi to drop you of, so no mad noisy road to rush across. And perhaps most important no noisy motorbikes. Very quite at night.
The beach immediately in front of flat is taken up by bathers, most of the rides the rides, pedal boats etc are a 100 meters walk to left of the flat.
The beach is safe sandy one. A promontory to the West and a palm grove to the East give the appearance of the beach being a small private one.
There are various bars, restaurants and Churingitas in the area where you can eat from a simple dish of Barbequed Sardines to full blown English breakfast.
Immediately outside the flat are two bars/restaurants. In Bar Nelson Luis will cook you roast beef etc if your missing home? And Bar Latino where Salvador and his family will take care of you.
Best value in the town, ask for menu del dia from 9 Euros for a set 3 course meal. Not readily available on “the front” but there are two bars, Avendia and Nueva Playamar by the fat ladies roundabout which do serve menu del dia, about a 15 minute walk. Don’t speak Spanish? Just watch what every one else is eating. Don’t accept a menu, make sure the camarero, waiter gives you the menu del dia, it’ll be in his head, probably half the price of the tourist menu.
For the vegetarians amongst you, Epinica in the town does an excellent menu del dia, 4 courses for less than 9 Euros. Closed Sundays.
Please note that we cannot accept late arrivals. If you wish to arrive after 21.00 please check before you book.
The accommodation is suited to couples.
And obviously the flat is strictly a no smoking zone.

Calle San Miguel
The main shopping area is in the town above the beach. This is accessible by the steps, all 300 of them!! Or the public lift, 30 centimes a trip. There are still steps but nowhere near as many. Bear in mind being Spain the public lift closes for lunch!! And at 8pm.
We are lucky in that the Roca Chica block has it’s own private lift to the town. So no queuing or rushing to get the last one back. Again a few steps at the top but not too many. Open until 2am
San Miguel as well as being a favourite tipple is also the main shopping street.
It is fully pedestrianised and full of many different types of shops.
There is a “duty free” shop for your cheap drinks, brandy, and cigarettes. Several, jewellery, shoe, and lots of gift shops etc.
There are a couple of food shops close to the flat, but they can be very expensive.
Close to the fat ladies roundabout is a mercadona supermarket. Here you can be sure you will not be ripped of.

Where we are.
From the airport. Well you could take the train and the lift down, but a taxi to the door will cost you about 15 Euros.
Unless you want to go further afield you really don’t need a car. Parking is horrendous in summer. The block also has it’s own private car parking area, by the lift, but it can still be difficult to park at times. Far better leave the car and stress at home.
The bus station and the train are both only a short walk from the top of the lift. The train runs a regular, 4 an hour, service between Malaga and Fungirolla. Benalmedena and its excellent port is only a short ride.
Turn left from the flat and you’ll walk along the main beach road. Huge choice of gift shops, but watch the road.
Alternatively you can turn right out of the flat along the paseo and it is a level walk to La Carihuela the next beach along five minutes or so. Not the same choice of shops, but no cars to worry about. Or keep going and find out what’s further round the corner.
In theory you could walk to Fuengirola, but I’d take a cab.
