Detached 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom villa situated in the quiet, typically Spanish town of Rojales, only 30 minutes drive from Alicante Airport. Nice view over the Vega Baja valley to the Callosa mountains. Accommodation comprises of a double bedroom with built-in wardrobe & chest of drawers, a twin-bedded room with built in wardrobe and chest of drawers, 4 piece bathroom with shower over bath, open plan, fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, microwave, electric hob & oven, dining and lounge area. Large roof sun terrace and a shaded terrace at the front. The roof terrace is reached from an outdoor staircase at the back. A gravel laid garden surrounds the property with two cactus beds at the front. Cars may be taken up the driveway for safety. The villa has air conditioning in the living room and both bedrooms. Satellite dish on solarium and Sky box for freeview channels - BBC, ITV, CH4 etc, but BBC2 not normally available in Costa Blanca . Widescreen TV, video, radio cassette, multi-region DVD player and a small selection of recent DVDs & videos. NOTE - there is NO gas in the villa. Plenty fresh towels, bedding and table linen available. There is a washing line and a portable roof shower attached to the tap on the roof solarium. A full set of right hand golf clubs is kept in the house and is for guests to use. Maps and information on using the equipment in the house are kept at the property. Car hire is essential in this area and costs approximately £55-80 per week dependent on month of hire. We normally find the best deals are with CARJET.COM or HOLIDAYAUTOS.COM and they normally get a cheaper deal than going direct to the hire companies. We like to use Auriga where possible. It is normal to pick car up full and return it empty but check this. A small basic food pack can be arranged on arrival including bottled water. Tap water can be drunk, but we would recommend bottled water as the local water is quite heavily chlorinated.
 

Rojales is ideal for anyone who prefers to avoid the resort type holiday. The villa is 10 minutes drive from the lovely Guardamar beach and there are beaches at Torrevieja and La Mata which are only 15 minutes away.
The community pool is only 200 yards from the villa. It is open until dusk.
There are a few supermarkets nearby which sell some UK foods. The larger supermarkets are only minutes drive away. The local newsagent sells UK papers and the British pub is only 500 yards away. It does excellent meals with entertainment some evenings. A choice of foods is available, with several small cafes, a Mexican, 2 Chinese and 2 Indian restaurants beside the pub. There is a Dutch take-away which is very cheap and do great "Los Dos" burgers.
There are several other more Spanish cafe bars and we'd recommend Bar Sonia and the Oasis Cafe.  

The Costa Blanca is golfing country with the nearest course being La Marquesa - only 5 minutes drive away. The new championship course of La Finca is only 10 minutes drive away and aspires to be one of the finest in Spain. The great courses of Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas are only 20 minutes drive away. La Manga is approx 75 minutes drive, although it is very expensive (€168 per round in 2004) and very poor quality for this price. It can't therefore be recommended.
If you do play golf, David Krouse's golf and key cutting shop in Benijofar (walking distance from villa) will be pleased to give you discounts off golf at most of the courses around the area. He also hires clubs out and sells equipment. You may possibly be asked for a handicap certificate to play on some of the courses but is unlikely.
There are places of historical interest at Cartagena, Murcia, Orihuela and Elche. Salt lakes can be found at La Manga, Torrevieja, La Mata and Santa Pola and are beneficial for rheumatic ailments. Flamingos are a common sight in the salt lakes and change colour depending on the lake conditions at the time. There is a small water park which is easily reached from the house on the back road to the town of Quesada, only 5 minutes drive away.

The kitchen is complete with the usual household items of equipment. There are plenty of fresh towels, bedding and table linen available.

The villa comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin. The property also has 2 double sofa beds located in the Living Room. This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 1 bathrooms for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, radio.

There is room for 5 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find historic sites, a museum.

4 championship golf courses only 20 mins drive. Gorgeous beach at Guardamar - 10 mins.

Places of historical interest include Elche,Orihuela,Cartajena and Murcia. Benidorm 2 hours drive.
