Character Tuscan house situated at the edge of a picturesque village in the hills of Northern Tuscany. The private terrace and gardens are a perfect setting to appreciate the stunning views of the surrounding hills and the marble Apuan mountains in the distance.

The swimming pool offer a chance to cool down after a day in the sun. The pool area is equipped with sun beds and dining offering a secluded setting to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of ‘al fresco’ dining. A traditional wood burning barbeque gives another angle to cooking outside...barbeques dont come any better than this. Parking is provided directly at the property. A superb house for groups or families either wishing to explore this enchanting part of Tuscany or simply relax unwind by the pool and take in the atmosphere.



Accommodation
The accommodation comprises: covered terrace leading to open plan living room featuring open ceiling and part exposed stone walls. The kitchen area is fully equipped with all the necessary equipment including dishwasher. Doors lead to the rear of the property, a shaded area in which to relax overlooked by the old barn, a charming reminder of the more simple origins of the house. The hallway provides access to a shower room, double bedroom and twin room all with views over the garden and pool. Stairs lead to the newly restored lower floor, a spacious room furnished with double bed and en suite bathroom. Doors open to a covered terrace. The house has been thoughtfully furnished to combine some traditional and contemporary pieces offering relaxed comfort.

The nearby village has a small bar and grocery shop and only a short drive away or 15-20 min walk there is a superb resturant "agrituourismo" . Welcoming staff and picturesque surroundings make this a wonderful place to enjoy the local cuisine. The medieval village of Casola a couple of minutes in the other direction has a selection of amenities.

 

The word Tuscany conjures images of olive groves and vineyards, fine food and wine, romantic farmhouses lined with cypress trees and of course the sun set over Florence. Tourists are drawn every year by these beautiful images they see in glossy magazines, travel guides and through film and television. Many visitors can be forgiven for thinking that Chianti, Siena and Florence encompasses all Tuscany has to offer, however this is not so, and although these areas are enchanting there is much more to discover. Lunigiana offers a truly unspoilt corner of Tuscany and an inspired destination for the Italian traveller. The most Northern tip which borders the colourful Gulf of the Poets. The nearby Versilia coast overflows with sea side charm and is within easy reach the impressive city of Lucca, rich with Italian architecture and culture. In order to really understand Tuscany it is essential to experience its many contrasts and only then will you discover its true spirit.

Please note that the swimming pool is usually open for the beginning of June however early opening during May can be arranged by request.

The farm house comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The farm house has 1 bathrooms for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The farm house has television dvd. The music system will play cds.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The farm house is in a very quiet area. It has a private swimming pool, a garden, a patio area, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The farm house is right beside swimming.

Close to the farm house you will find walking, horse riding, historic sites, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the farm house you will find boat hire, skiing/snowboarding, golf, tennis.

Gary says: "Il Salice offerred a real opportunity to fully unwind in an area of outstanding beauty. The property was clean, comfortable and very well furnished and equipped with all the essentials. The covered terrace was put to use on most evenings providing a perfect setting to dine al fresco. The swimming pool was newly built with good quality loungers on which to catch the sun rays with unobscured views of nearby mountains and wooded areas. Il Salice is off the beaten track with a small village in walking distance offering one small bar, however the small shop was never open. Whilst locally there are many small towns and villages the main cities are quite a distance away and, with narrow twisting roads up and down hills, travelling time was often longer than expected. The nearest town with a supermarket of any size was Aulla with a drive of approx 40 mins. All in all a wonderful location in which to relax and a property that we would not hesitate in returning to."
