Villa Jazmin is in a quiet hamlet in the foothills of the Sierra Calderona Mountains.

We bought the property in December 2005, having fallen in love with the views from the front balcony, and plan to live there permanently one day.

The villa is spacious, with a large pool, a secluded terrace, and a garden containing various fruit trees - guests are welcome to pick and eat the fruit when in season.

The driveway is quite steep, and there are steps up to the balcony, which makes the property unsuitable for wheelchair users, and small children, unfortunately. However, once on the balcony, the rest of the house is on virtually the same level (there is one small step to access the rear bathroom, and there are steps up to the pool).

 

The Villa is in the community of Cabezo Roig - this is a hamlet of around a dozen properties, and so it's quiet and peaceful, without feeling "cut off". The road through the hamlet leads up into the mountains, which are great for either walking or mountain biking.

Cabezo Roig is just 0.5Km from the nearest paved road, and so a trip to the local town of Lliria, 9Km away, takes less than 15 minutes.

Lliria has all the amenities you'd expect of a medium-sized town, including several supermarkets, plenty of bars and restaurants, a hospital, a Sports Centre. There is also a Monastery, perched high on a hill above the town, which has wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

Lliria is at the end of the Metro line into Valencia, so if you want to visit the city, but don't want to brave the traffic, then you can leave your car in the free car park, and let the train take the strain! Return adult fare is €4

Lliria is also famous within Spain for its Music. It has two rival Music Colleges, and there are often marching bands in the streets, and regular Musical Concerts.

A short drive from the Villa is the town of Casinos, famous for its Turron - a type of nougat, which comes in dozens of varieties. A little further up the Turia valley is the turning to Chulilla - a scenic pueblo perched on the edge of a deep canyon, and with hot springs nearby.

NB: This region does not yet have the mass tourism found in the resorts further south, and you will find that many of the local shops and businesses speak only Spanish or Valencian. However, if you have even a few words of Spanish, you'll find them more than happy to help, and it's amazing what can be achieved with sign language! 

Almost all of the furniture in the Villa is new, and it has been recently redecorated.

There are three bedrooms: The largest contains a King-sized bed, the second contains a standard double, while the third bedroom can be configured as a twin, or as another King-sized bed as required (please state requirement when booking).
The Kitchen is fully fitted, with a Gas Hob, Extractor Hood, Electric Oven, Microwave, Fridge, and Dishwasher. We provide all the normal utensils and appliances, such as kettle, cafetiere, percolator, juicer, etc. Gas is bottled, and we ask that if you finish a bottle, you replace it (it costs around €11).

The Lounge has a 2-seater sofa and 2 armchairs. We normally eat outside except during winter, but there is also a dining table and 6 chairs, for the colder months or inclement weather. For entertainment, we have a 32" LCD TV, together with a Sky box (and viewing card for free-to-air channels), and a Home Cinema surround-sound system which will play VHS Tapes, DVDs and CDs (including MP3 CDs). The lounge also has a wood-burning stove, and there is a supply of logs under the front balcony, for use in the colder months.

There are two bathrooms - one with a WC, Shower, and Washbasin, and one with a WC, Washbasin, and full-sized bath.
At the front of the house is a large Balcony, with fantastic panoramic views - on a clear day, you can see the sea, almost 40Km away - while at the rear of the house is a secluded terrace, ideal for catching the afternoon sun. Both Balcony and Terrace have large retractable awnings to provide shade from the sun as required.

To the North side of the house is an 8 metre by 3.5 metre filtered swimming pool. This is in full sun for almost the whole day. The pool has a salt-water chlorinator - these are much more pleasant and eco-friendly than having to use chemicals every other day!
The swimming pool surround is quite narrow, and unsuitable for sun loungers, but the rear terrace is just a few steps away. The pool is fenced and gated, but we strongly recommend that children are supervised at all times.

Below the pool, overlooking the terraced garden, is a seating area with a table, chairs and a pergola with a retractable shade.

To the South side of the house is a "Paellero", or BBQ House. This contains a washing machine, sink, a hearth for Barbecueing or cooking Paella, and a second Fridge/Freezer.

The lounge and bedrooms all have air-conditioning units, which double up as heaters during colder weather.

Please note that the property is *not* suitable for families with children under 6 years old, and we will decline any such bookings.

 

Hand and Bath towels are provided, but please bring your own Beach towels. There is a table and chairs to seat 6 on the Balcony, as well as a foldaway dining table and chairs that can be used in the Lounge if required. You will need a car - there is no nearby Public transport.

The villa comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin. . This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has television and home cinema with video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming calls only.

There is room for 6 in the living room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a east facing garden, a west facing patio area, a east facing balcony, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside swimming, walking.

Close to the villa you will find horse riding, tennis, a sports center, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find a beach, climbing, cycling, golf.

The remote location was exactly what we were after with great surrounding area to visit for day trips. The agent that met us was friendly and full of good advice on the villa and region as a whole. I would have loved to stay longer and would definately like to go back for seconds! This property was the least expensive property we could find for the dates we wanted - however I dont believe I could have found a better villa for double the money!"
