Situated in the beautiful Mervent Forest, with local restaurants just a few minutes walk away, the villa is ideally situated to explore the many attractions of the Vendee. The landscaped gardens measure some 1.5 acres and enclose a fenced swimming pool (6m x 12m) with roman steps, and a fenced pond. The lounge, with satellite TV, music system, & feature fireplace adjoins the dining room, which has a balcony overlooking the gardens and swimming pool. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, & gas cooker. There is a laundry room with a washing machine, drying and ironing facilities. There are two bathrooms, one on each floor. Each contains a bath with a shower and each floor has separate toilet. The ground floor has one double and one twin bedroom. The first floor has two double and one twin bedroom. A cot and highchair are also on hand for the very little members of your group. Outside, there are enough sunbeds for everyone to enjoy those lazy days by the pool. During the evenings, the large barbecue has been very popular with our guests for alfresco dining. The pool can been utilized late into the night as underwater lights are available to floodlight the water. A small welcome pack is provided for your refreshment on arrival. During the cooler months, the villa is fully centrally heated and there are plenty of seasoned logs provided for the open fire in the lounge.
 

Just five minutes walk takes you to the lake. Here you may hire a dinghy, motorboat or for the fit, a pedaloe! Fishing is very popular and mayy be enjoyed after the purchase of a permit from the local post office in the village. Ten minutes walk in the opposite direction will bring you to a delightful local zoo, particularly attractive for the younger members of your group. Boule, table tennis and horse riding are among the many other activities available locally, full details of which are available from the tourist office, also located in the village. The renowned village of Vouvant is about ten minutes drive away and is well worth a visit.. There are many Chateau to be seen locally, some open to tourists during the summer months. Although it can be very hot in the summer there are some lovely walks in the forest and designated pinic areas prove very popular with both the locals and the tourists. Ten kilometres to the south is the old Vendeen capital, Fonteny-le-Comte. Here you will find the large supermarkets and many restaurants, street cafes, and bars so typical of France.
 

Although in a very quiet area, you can easily reach the more lively resorts of La Rochelle and Les Sables D'lonnes.
There is so much to see in the region, however, for the more adventourous, visits may be made to the neighbouring towns of Niort, Poitier,Parthenay and beyond. 

The villa has great views over the Mervent forest and Vendee river. Linen is provided and included in the price, but towels and cot linen are not provided. The pool is closed from the beginning of October until the end of April.

The villa comprises 5 bedrooms in total; 3 double, 2 twin and 1 cots. . This gives room for up to 10 people.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The villa has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio.

There is room for 10 in the living room and 10 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, a south facing balcony, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside swimming, sailing, boat hire, fishing, walking.

Close to the villa you will find flying, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, historic sites, a museum, a zoo, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find golf, a themepark.
