Bento Novo’ Farm, it is a new place of Rural Tourism in the Country located in the Green Coast of Portugal, close to Viana do Castelo. It is a centennial house recently recovered, with characteristic architecture of the North of Portugal, rounded with pretty gardens outside.

Placed on the slope of a hill, Bento Novo’s farm marvels us with the beauty of its lands, going down through the little gardens that found at every corner, all the way to the clean waters of the stream that runs to the bottom of the farm's limits.

The ancient rural ambience can still be observed on the thick granite walls of the house, as well as on the sheds, granaries and thrashing floors that were once used to dry and store corn and maize, are very typical of the region. Along the leisure spaces there are gardens, with hundreds of species of trees, shrubs and flowers, decorative vines, conifers and orchards, with green lawn spaces everywhere and countless flower beds.

For the absolute privacy it offers, at such a short distance of one of the biggest cities of the country, Oporto, Bento Novo’s farm is a real paradise for family vacations and week-end escapes.

For a never-ending discovery of our cultural heritage, for the delights our sea has to offer or for a unique encounter with nature, our guests will find more than enough reasons to return!

The house keeps its ancient look, with walls of stone and the rural surroundings, even though it has been recently adapted to all modern comforts.

Originally built in 1892, the House has been in our family through several generations. Recently we have re-built it in order to better welcome our guests.

On the northern wing there is a staircase built in solid granite. It is a good example of the contrast of schist and granite that can be seen all over the farm.

The suite is an independent building wit a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom. Even though it is very close the house it allows complete privacy and independency.

At reception we can see an oratory, an antique very well preserved by our ancestors.

The dinning room, in the past was only reserved to the most important events. It is very well lit since two of the walls are covered in windows. It is an excellent place to have dinner or have a chat.

On the lower floor you can sit on the sofas and enjoy the various wines kept in our cellar, our small library or just watch a movie. We call this room the “Beam Room” because it has 4 massive wooden beams in the ceiling that give a very rustic and welcoming feeling look to the room.

 

On Bento Novo’s Farm you will find a welcoming paradise and quiet vacation. A rural space near the mountains and the beach, on a region of luxurious green and streams.
Here the visitors will be able to enjoy all the colorful gardens, blue skies, shining sun and clear waters.
Eira (thrashing floor), espigueiro (typical corn drying shed) and telheiros (sheds): originally conceived to dry and store corn, they give a true sensation of living in ancient rural times.
The gardens: every square meter has a guaranteed surprise: with hundreds of species of trees, shrubs and flowers, the Farm has several corners which are all unique. From garden amphitheaters to real "outdoor living rooms" with granite sofas and tables, we can walk through schist paths through woods, shade and water games or lakes.
In our farm we grow several fruit trees. We have kiwi vines, wallnut, persimmon, apple, peach, orange and clementine trees, just to name a few. You can enjoy their shadow and their delicious fruits at the same time!

You will also be able to watch our kitchen gardens and crop fields were we grow vegetables and cereals. With 40.000 square meters of space, you will be able to enjoy your time while walking and strolling around our farm.

Underground springs and wells allow us to hear and see running water while sitting in the gardens.
Granite can be seen on tables, presses, vats, stairs and walks. Here you can see one of the granite tanks, where you will be able to refresh yourself.

Lawns and gardens can be found all over the farm and our guests are free and very welcome to use them for their leisure time.
 

Green Coast (Minho) has an enormous array of choices to give: beaches (blue and golden flags), golf, tennis, swimming pools, spas, an excellent gastronomy, a very animated ambiance, fishing and hunting, water sports, trekking, historic villages, monuments, gardens, tourist circuits and a very contagious folk culture.

The property is located near a small village, Perre. Perre is at six km from Viana do Castelo, a small town with all the modern comfort and facilities (shopping centre, ATM, monuments).

Even if a car is no essential it is recommendable.

There are a lot of great restaurants nearby.

The farm house comprises 6 bedrooms in total; 6 double and 2 cots, 6 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 12 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The farm house has 6 bathrooms and 7 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The farm house has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming calls only and a fax machine.

There is room for 12 in the living room and 12 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The farm house is in a very quiet area. It has a east facing garden, a west facing patio area, panoramic views, a barbeque.

The farm house is right beside walking, cycling, mountain biking.

Close to the farm house you will find a beach, swimming, climbing, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the farm house you will find wind surfing, horse riding, golf.
