Villa Sophia is a luxury, detached villa on a small complex of 23 villas, the Azelea Villas, right in the centre of Yalikavak. Most of the villas in the centre of the village are residential, and not available for holiday rental. The majority of holiday rental properties are well out of the village, high up on the hillsides, making car rental a necessity. Our villa is in a flat area making it ideal for push chairs and the less able. It is less than 10 minutes stroll along the flat to the sandy beach and village centre. Here you will find a beautiful old, unspoilt harbour with a variety of shops and restaurants.
It is set in landscaped gardens and shares a large swimming pool and separate children's pool with the other villas on this small complex. The villa sits at the edge of the development and has beautiful views of the surrounding hills and mandarin groves from its large roof top terrace and first floor balcony. It is west facing and so gets the evening sun. Super for an evening drink on the balcony.
Downstairs there is a large open plan living space providing a well equipped kitchen area with barbecue terrace, dining area with large dining table and chairs as well as sitting room. There is a large ground floor terrace leading out from the sitting room which provides a lovely outdoor eating area. As the villa is set back a little from the pool, this is very private and not overlooked.The ground floor also features a spacious cloakroom and toilet.
On the first floor the master (double) bedroom has an ensuite shower room and its own private balcony. Relaxing chairs and a table are provided making it a lovely place to finish the day.The second bedroom provides twin accommodation. The third bedroom has a set of full size bunkbeds. The main family bathroom provides a bath with overhead power shower.
The stairs lead up further to the spacious roof top terrace with spectacular panoramic views. This is furnished with large cushions and a low table in the "Turkish Corner" style.
The villa is beautifully finished to a very high standard.As it is used as our own holiday home it is better equipped than would be expected. We have decorated it with original paintings and artwork, giving it that special touch. It has plenty of wardrobe and other storage space.

We understand the difficulties of travelling with young children/babies, especially with the current luggage restrictions.To this end, we provide the following items:
Baby cot (with linen),high chair,childrens crockery/cutlery, potty.
We can supply nappies on request (extra charge payable locally).
 

Yalikavak is a traditional Turkisk fishing village on the northern (quieter and less commercialised) coast of the Bodrum Peninsula. It has yet to appear in the mainstream travel brochures and so is a perfect retreat for those more discerning of travellers, looking for a quieter holiday but in easy reach of the hustle and bustle of Bodrum. The Bodrum Peninsula has a wonderful bus (dolmus) service with regular buses serving all the different resorts. A car is therefore unnecessary. If you really want to explore though, it is easy to arrange car hire either in advance or locally.
Although Yalikavak has it's own sandy beaches you might want to explore some of the others nearby. There are so many that you hardly need visit the same one twice.
Yalikavak itself has some wonderful restaurants, naturally specialising in local seafood. There are many other restaurants easily accessible around the coast. There are also many bars in Yalikavak, but for more active night life visit some of the nearby neighbouring resorts. 

The Bodrum Peninsula is one of the most beautiful parts of Turkey's Aegean Coast. There are numerous small fishing villages and resorts around the coast, each with their own individual character.There are many beaches to choose from both with and without watersports, to suit all tastes. Please see our photo gallery for examples.There are boat trips to be had from many of these harbours.Both Bodrum and Yalikavak have marinas. For those wishing to partake in a little more serious yachting, yacht charter is available.
Those wishing to venture a bit further might like to take the ferry across from Bodrum to the Greek island of Kos.
There are many land based places to visit. These include Ephesus, the largest archaeological site in the world, the stunning pools at Pamukkale, the royal rock tombs at Dalyan, the temple of Apollo at Didim or St. Peter's Castle, built by the crusaders, in Bodrum itself.  

The villa has plenty of wardrobe and other storage space. There is a large fridge/freezer in the kitchen. The villa will be cleaned and prepared for your arrival, including making up the beds. Towels are provided for your use inside the villa. Please bring your own swimming towels.The linen and towels will be replaced with fresh ones after the first week, for two week stays. There is also 24 hour security. All water and electricity is included in the price. The swimming pool is open from 1 April to 31 October. We provide sunloungers, umbrellas, pool inflatables and some beach toys. Our local manager can organise AIRPORT TRANSFERS or car hire for you. These are paid for locally.You will receive her contact details when you make your final payment. For those with late flights home, luggage can be stored in the security office (we can accept no liability for this).It may be possible to check out of the villa later, for a local fee, if there are no incoming guests.

The villa comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 2 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 3 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a garden, a patio area, a balcony, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Close to the villa you will find a beach, swimming, sailing, boat hire, fishing, cycling, scuba diving, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find water skiing, wind surfing, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, a themepark.
