The beautifully restored house is set in Gokcebel a small village approx 2 km from Yalikavak town. Built on the site of an ancient Girel Castle where remains of the old walls public baths and cisterns can still be found. Although just a short drive from Yalikavak beach and the more cosmopolitan pleasures of Bodrum, the village itself has not succumbed to modern intrusions and in the narrow lanes one can experience Turkish village life at its most authentic. The garden is on several levels, with 3 seating areas a purpose built BBQ with grapes, roses and jasmine trained over, affording perfect shade for those hot and sunny summer days There is a private swimming pool. This unusual home is for the more discerning who want privacy and seclusion, yet close to all the restaurants, bars and shops for that perfect holiday . 

Because of the thickness of the stone, the house is wonderfully cool in the summer heat. 2 original wood burning fires in upstairs living area add a cosy feel for off season lets. A large roof terrace with divan seating gives panoramic views over rolling countryside to the sea. This advert and prices correspond to the house alone. The attached cottage has its own entrance and consists of 1 double bedroom, 1 living room, upper level with 2 divan beds, kitchen, bathroom and W.C. This can be rented seperately or asa suppliment to the main house. Prices can be seen as extras. 

Both the House and the cottage have well stocked mature gardens. They cannot be overlooked. The garden is on several levels, with 3 shaded seating areas a purpose built BBQ area with large stone circular table and seating. The swimming pool 7m x 4m x 1.7m with marble sun terraces at each end is slightly raised and very private behind the pool is a small separate building housing shower, wc and office. There is also another separate shower in the garden. The pool is looked after by our caretaker on a regular basis.
We can supply a car as part of the rental package, this will be used to collect you from and deliver back to the airport, so there is no need for you to worry about transfers or finding the house first time!. Should you wish for a car please let us know in advance, we will need to know your travel details as soon as possible. We have secured a preferential rate in the region of £20 per day, and there is a saving of £30 taxi each way to and from the airport so it is to be recommended. There will be a complimentary welcome pack for our guests on arrival.

 

The house is situated in its own gardens with roof terrace and patios, barbeque area and plenty of seating. There is a private pool surrounded by mandarin trees. The house has an enormous living room, dining room kitchen and three bedrooms. There is a washing machine drying facilities and storage beside the guest cottage. All windows are netted for insects. The house has its own summer cottage/guest house which sleeps 4. It has its own patio eating area and roof terrace with sun loungers. This can be rented separately or with the main house.

The village house comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 2 twin, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The village house has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the village house cool.

The village house has television dvd. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Val says: "We had a wonderful time at the Old Stone House. It was perfect for our needs. the pool was particularly inviting. It is in a perfect position for touring the Bodrum peninsular and beyond, but you do need a car. We were disappointed that there were no restaurants within walking distance so someone always had to drive. Being an old house a couple of the doorways were quite low and everyone in our party managed to bump their head at least once during our stay. These two problems aside this is a perfect place to stay for a comfortable, relaxing,quiet holiday."
